Annabeth made a point about me taking off the scorched bag ,but for some strange reason I kept it on. I felt  there might still be something salvageable in it.

The interior designing of the room kinda reminded me of the museum where we vanquished Mr.s Dodds. There was brown leathery wallpaper behind some of the statues, it almost resembled snake skin.

And I thanked my parents that I wasn't a child of Apollo, because that would have been the biggest ick out of this entire place for me. But there was an underlying smell to me that almost overpowered the delicious homey aroma in the air.

Impending doom.

It smelt like cells turning to stone, like blood freezing.

My brows furrowed as I slowly turned to look at Grov, catching his eye. We both could feel it, smell it. Something was off her like said. There was a familiar smell to it, like that of a . . . .

Snake.

Like the smell you get when you visit the Oracle.

Instinctively I reached into my pocket for my handkerchief and was horrified when my hand grabbed nothing. And my expression blanked as I strained my neck to look behind my back at my charred bag.

Incredulity, sarcasm , and pure annoyance flashed across my face as I looked back at Percy and Annabeth, who stood beside me and asked, "Either of you have a spare cloth?"

"No." Percy replied ,looking regretful.

Annabeth nodded shoving her hand into her pocket to pull out my handkerchief. Well , one of them. I had forty in all.

"No. That's yours." I immediately denied it. I would pay for my own stupidity without inconveniencing someone else.

"Shut up and take it, Bubbles." She shoved it into my hand. "You need it more anyway."

I smiled softly as I pressed the soft cloth to my face inhaling it's sweet fragrance. It was enchanted. All of them were.

A gift from mother.

"Thank you."

She nodded as Grover suddenly bleated.
