Rhine opened the journal, wondering what he should start with. He had already written down many things, but perhaps he should start with other things. Memories, perhaps. Memories and thoughts, together.
He picked up the pen, click, and started to write his first entry.
3rd of June, 1945
I remembered TR warning me about Mengele, and specifically telling me to not tell him we were twins.
“Why?” I had asked, curious why TR told me this.
“He has a… thing for twins. Likes to study them,” TR explained, looking around to make sure no one heard us.
It clicked in my mind that Mengele was someone to be wary of, so I nodded, making a metal note to heed TR's advice.
It was a good thing Mengele didn’t know about the human counterparts of countryhumans. Otherwise he would have gone bat shit crazy over researching us.
Just thinking about that makes me shudder. I miss TR. I hope he's okay wherever he is.
