Chapter fourteen:

TW: Hospital

Scar pov:

I think I'm in a dream. But I can control it?

There's Grian here, and Mumbo. We're all hanging out together like how we did last year.

But something wrong.

Mumbo seems to be spaced out and Grian's looking at me weird. When I look at him he'll look away and his face will turn even redder.

I ask them what's wrong and they say nothing. But they're hiding something.

The both of them.

"Grian?" I ask him and he looks at me, his face red.

"Grian?" I ask again, I don't understand why though.

He keeps blushing and Mumbo keeps looking at me like I'm a ghost.

Grian pov:

He keeps mumbling something as I sit next to him.

When Stress came out she seemed worried, but wouldn't tell me anything other than I can go see him.

I try to listen, but it's too quiet.

I'm holding his free hand and rubbing my thumb against the back of his hand, trying to calm myself.

I wait for six days until he wakes up. I didn't think his 'condition' as Stress has been calling it, was that bad until the end of the first day.

He rustles around a lot and mumbles all day and night.

"Grian?" He whispers and I look away from my communicator, where I'd been talking to Impulse.

"Yes?" I say, worried and happy he's not dead yet.

"Grian?" He asks again and his face changes for the first time in days.

"Scar!" I say and hop out of my chair, hitting a button to teleport Stress here.

"What's happening?" She asks, covered in dirt, clearly having been terraforming.

"Scar started talking." I say and she looks at him before putting another ender pearl in the water.

"I'm sure he's fine, but I'm going to need you to leave for a bit, okay?" She says and I nod sadly.

I wait in the hall for a bit before she comes back out.

"Scar's awake, he wants to see you." She says and I nod happily.

I walk in and see him sitting up.

"Scar!" I smile and hug him, knocking over a potion.

"Hi Grian." He says tiredly, wrapping one arm around me, his other in it's bandage.

"Are you okay?" I ask looking up at him. He nods and smiles.

I smile back at him then bury my head in his chest, breathing him in.

"I'm glad you're alive." I whisper and listen to his heartbeat for a while before falling asleep on top of him.
