Meredith fidgeted in a fitful sleep, tossing and turning in Addison's arms. Waking up briefly, she surged forward to vomit in the bucket Arizona left in front of the couch. Rolling back over in Addison's arms she whimpered as the pain in her stomach worsened.
"Mama. Tummy huwt." Meredith cried, sucking her thumb. Addison gently pushed her thumb out and replaced it with a pacifier, kissing her forehead.
"Arizona, would you mind taking her temperature again? It doesn't feel like her fevers going down at all and she's getting clammy." Addison said worriedly. Arizona nodded and took the forehead thermometer Bailey left behind off the table, holding it to Meredith's temple.
"102. We need to bring her in." Arizona bit her lip. "Sweet pea, where does your tummy hurt? Can you show mommy?" Meredith pointed to just below her ribcage on her the right side. "It could be her gallbladder. I'll call Bailey and let her know we're coming in."
"Here, take her. While you call Bailey I'll go get some stuff together to bring with us. If Richard tries to talk to about anything but her condition I swear I'm going to throttle him." Addison growled, kissing Meredith's forehead and promising to be right back as she passed her to Arizona and ran up the stairs.
"Bailey? It's Arizona." Arizona greeted when Bailey answered the phone. She rubbed Meredith's back as the little blonde cried into her shoulder.
"Hi Arizona, how's our patient doing?" Bailey greeted, frowning when she picked up on the sound of Meredith crying in the background. "Not good I take it."
"Not good." Arizona confirmed with a sigh. "She's been in and out of a fitful sleep since you left and has thrown up a couple of times. I just rechecked her temperature and it's gone up, it's 102 now. I asked where her stomach is hurting and she pointed around her gallbladder. Addison's getting some stuff together and we're going to bring her in. Can you please meet us when we get there?"
"Absolutely, I'll get a room ready for her now so she doesn't have to sit in the pit while she waits on tests. Do you want me to go ahead and order an ultrasound?" Bailey offered, waving April over from where she was charting.
"That would be great, thank you Bailey." Arizona hung up the phone and gently moved Meredith down to change her, the little blonde sobbing. "I know sweet pea, we're going to go to the hospital to figure out what's going on my my sweet sunshine."
"Auntie Tina tewe?" Meredith sniffled rubbing her eyes.
"Yes sweet pea and I'm sure she'll come visit you. Same with Alex and April." Arizona smiled picking Meredith back up and slipping her shoes on.
"Tey gwive Mewedif pwesents to feel betta?" Meredith asked hopefully, a wince causing her to frown.
"Knowing them, I'm sure you'll get presents." Arizona chuckled. Addison walked back in the room with a bag packed.
"Who's driving and who's sitting in the back with her?" Addison asked, smiling when Meredith reaching out for her. She picked her up and kissed the crown of her head as the middle blonde laid her head on her shoulder.
"I'll drive, you sit with her." Arizona stood up and grabbed the keys to her car. "Bailey's already getting a room ready and ordering an ultrasound."
"God, I love her." Addison said following Arizona to the door. She got Meredith in the car and slid in next her, guiding her to rest her head on her lap. When they got to the hospital, Arizona pulled into the ambulance bay to let them out, promising Meredith that she would be back as soon as she parked the car. Addison carried Meredith in where Bailey and April were waiting with a gurney, but Meredith didn't want to let go. "Bunny, I'm right here. It's okay. Can you lay down for mama?" Meredith whispered and shook her head, clutching onto her tighter.
