The next morning Meredith woke up and rolled over to snuggle into Addison, yelping when she hit her incisions. Addison carefully moved her into her arms, cradling her gently. "Careful bunny, you have a boo boo on your tummy, remember?"

"Oh yeah, Mewedif fowgot." Meredith sighed. "Wen we go home?"

"I don't know bunny, we'll have to ask Bailey when she comes to check on you." Addison kissed her forehead.

"Where mommy? Mewedif miss mommy." Meredith pouted.

"She had to go check on a couple patients, but she'll be back soon." Addison promised. "Do you want to try to call her?"

"Wes pwease." Meredith nodded. Addison picked up her phone, finding Arizona's number and putting the phone on speaker.

"Addie? Is she okay?" Arizona asked in a panicked voice.

"Mommy!" Meredith cheered happily. "Mewedif miss you!"

"I miss you too sweet pea. How are you feeling?" Arizona smiled on the other end of the phone.

"Boo boo huwt." Meredith whimpered.

"I'm sorry your boo boo hurts sunshine." Arizona sympathized. "I'll be back soon, I just have a couple more patients I need to check on. Is that okay?"

"Dat otay. Just make suwe you come back." Meredith said seriously, looking up when Larry Jennings walked into the room. "Mommy dewe a man in hewe."

"A man? Addie, who's there?" Arizona asked Addison her concern clear.

"It's just Larry Jennings, don't worry." Addison chuckled. "We'll see you soon. I love you."

"I love you too. I love you sweet pea. I'll be there as soon as I can." Arizona promised. "Be good for mama."

"Wub you mommy. Mewedif be good." Meredith promised. Addison ended the call and put her phone back on the table and turned her attention to Jennings.

"Sorry about that, Arizona's checking on patients and someone woke up missing her." Addison explained.

"That's alright Dr. Montgomery." Jennings assured her. "Have you had a chance to think about what we talked about?"

"No, I've been a little busy." Addison suppressed an eye roll. "I would love to help you out, but it's a big decision and there are a lot of different factors for me to take into consideration."

"The board has another candidate and we think you would approve." Jennings informed her as Mark walked in.

"Chief Sloan reporting for duty!" Mark exclaimed, walking into the room with a gift bag. "Oh good the kids up! I brought her a little something."

"Wait, you want to make Mark Sloan chief?" Addison laughed. "The nurses hate him."

"I'm wounded Addison, truly wounded." Mark held his chest in mock hurt. "The nurses and I worked everything out, I promised to stop trying to sleep with them and they stopped boycotting me."

"Mawk twied to sweep wif da nuwses? Why?" Meredith asked innocently, looking intently at Addison with furrowed brows.

"Thanks Mark." Addison sighed before looking down at Meredith. "He wanted to be friends with them, bunny, but they thought that he was annoying."

"Do mama tink he annoyin?"

"Yes." Addison nodded.

"Ten Mewedif tink he annoyin too." Meredith decided with a nod.

"Would you still think I was annoying if I gave you this present?" Mark laughed.

"Mama tink you annoyin and Mewedif a mama's giwl so wes." Meredith giggled. "But Mewedif wike pwesents."
