"How long will you be out?" Paul said. "For the Doctor's?"
"Oh, you know how it is. Always a long wait." You groaned. "Maybe a few hours. I'll go by the store too, while I'm out."
He nodded.
It was a routine pediatric appointment for Rosemary. Now that she was two years old, she was due for some jabs.
You were at a loss for words.
"So you can't see us?" You said to the receptionist. She shrugged.
"Sorry." She said.
That was bullshit... You decided to come home without shopping. Rosemary didn't have her cuddly toy, and was getting fussy at the cold weather, and the pregnancy only made things more uncomfortable.
You had a pleasant atmosphere returning to the house
You picked up Rosemary, her arms reaching up, smiling. She was such a sweet girl. And you'd have another soon. You were 25 weeks along now. You smiled. Though you had the normal fears any expectant mother did, unlike your previous pregnancy, you were married, and already went through it once before. The worries and uncertainties were much lesser. You were happy.
You put the key in the doorway, Rosemary watching, eyes peering down.
It wasn't loud, but you heard the sound. A soft moaning.
You were confused, though your cheeks tinged with pink at noticing it. There was a ruffling of sheets, barely audible coming from your bedroom.
Paul must be pleasuring himself, the randy old thing. Maybe thinking you'd be out longer. Well, you hadn't planned to come home. You'd thought he wouldn't be either, it was coming upon 3, he was usually home by four, sometimes kept until 6 if it was a particularly busy day.
You felt a sense of uneasiness then. You heard the sound again. It didn't sound like him.
You would've called out for him questioningly, but in the moment, you didn't.
You paced to the bedroom door, it was cracked. You usually shut it when not home, though not meticulously.
You pushed it open somewhat hesitantly.
Your heart sunk to your stomach. You clasped a hand against your mouth in horror. Your eyes began to burn, becoming blurry. You could'nt breathe, as if your lungs were constricted.
"No!"
The movement stopped, just as much horror on the two figures. You couldn't even see them anymore, your vision clouded with reflexive tears.
