"Mummy, can you please play with me." Five year old me pleaded, tugging at the edge of my mom's dress, craving her attention.
"Jayna, stop, you're ruining my dress." My mother yelled angrily at me, snatching her dress from my hands.
"I'm sorry mummy. I..I didn't mean to." I whimpered. My bottom lip wobbled as tears filled my eyes.
"Hannah." My mother called out for my nanny and left without sparing me a glance.
I watched her retreat, wondering how I could make it up to her.
"Come on Jay, let's go." Hannah said and took me away.
"Aunt Hannah". I called out curiosly.
"Yes Baby." She responded affectionately,  calling me the pet name she had for me.
"What will you do for someone if you got the person mad." I asked.
She swooped me into her arms and placed me on her hips, causing a bunch of giggles to escape my lips.
Aunt Hannah had been my nanny for as long as I could remember.
She was almost the same age as mummy and she was the best. After my mummy, she was my favourite adult.
But obviously my mummy comes first.
"Why are you asking that baby, did you make someone mad." She asked peering into my eyes.
I nodded my head a Yes, remembering how upset mom looked when I tugged her dress.
I shouldn't have done that. I thought with a pout.
"Are you talking about your mummy." She asked again, but this time with a little frown.
I nodded again.
"Your mom's not angry at you baby. She's just a little stressed." Aunt Hannah replied, frowning bigger this time.
"Anyway, when I make someone mad, I usually bake something for them, like a cake." She replied.
My eyes lit up in excitement when I heard that. "A cake." I asked excited.
She giggled nodding her head.
"Well, why haven't I received a cake before." I asked with furrowed eyebrows. We had reached the elevators to the Penthouse where we lived.
I still had my arms wrapped tightly around Aunt's neck as she supported me with a hand on my hip holding me up.
"That's because you've never gotten angry at me before." She replied.
"Well now I'm angry that I've never received a cake from you before." I frowned and turned my head to the opposite direction.
Who are the other people in the elevator?
I thought curiosly, watching the people behind me.
It was a man and a woman and a boy.
The boy had dark brown hair like mom's, although she prefers I call it blooney.
I don't know what that means but I think it's the name for that hair colour.  His blue eyes were so bright.
"Look Aunt Hannah." I whispered, tugging her hair to get her attention.
"What is it baby." She whispered back.
"His eyes are so blue." I whispered. She just chuckled and turned back.
"Why couldn't my eyes be blue to." I whispered again.
"Your eyes are blue Jay." She said again.
"But his are nicer." The elevator dinged and the little family got out of the lift.
"Yours are just as pretty." She said again.
"Aunt Hannah." I asked after a moment of silence in the elevator.
"Can you please teach me how to bake a cake. I want to bake one for mummy."
I asked.
"Of course baby. By the time I'm done with you, you're gonna be baking cake for Gordon Ramsey." Aunt Hannah said with a little smirk.

It was finally the day of the charity event and everyone was freaking out.
"Jay, have you seen my shoes, I can't find  them anywhere." Penny groaned running around.
"At this rate,we are going to be so fucking late." Kim said in nothing but her robe.
Let me explain the situation. The charity event will begin in an hour and none of us were ready thanks to Penny.
Today being a Saturday, it was quite normal for all of us to stay at home.
That meant plenty of time to get ready but Penny thought it will be a great idea if we had a little nap before we left.
Something about getting rid of the dark circles and being fully energized for our night.
Unfortunately, we all overslept and are totally freaking out. We can't afford to be late.
I stood in the living room in my green bodycon dress watching the mess unfold before me.
The girls and I live in a modest one storey house which had the living room in the centre, making it the first place one would see if one comes into the house.
The room was a mess. There were blankets and pillows scattered on the floor. Food wrappers and empty soda cans were also littered as well.
An hour more to the event. I have to help them out.
I entered Penny's room and saw her struggling to zip up her dress. She was only in one heel whilst her other feet was barefooted. Her hair was also quite a mess. It looked like a bird's nest.
I wasn't done getting ready but she clearly needed some help.
I helped in zipping her dress and lead her towards her vanity table.
"Fix your hair, I'll find the other half of your shoe." I ordered her and stepped into her bathroom.
On her sink were her earrings and necklace. I quickly retreated, but something glittery from her tub caught my attention.  I went closer and guess what, it was her missing pair.
I retrieved it and dropped all her missing stuff in front of her vanity table.
I rushed towards Kim's room, and I was shocked.
There were clothes scattered all over the floor. Shoes were everywhere, and she was still in her black robe.
"What are you doing?" I screeched watching as she applied a facial mask unto her face.
"Kim, we do not have time for this right now." I removed the mask of her face and steered her towards her washroom.
"Have you taken your bath." I asked.
"No."
"What, Kim, what have you been doing?" I didn't give her time to reply as I pushed her towards the shower.
"Bath, now." I ordered her.
She had her body lotions and make-up and hair stuff in her washroom already.
I looked around her messy room, trying to find her dress.
I saw it still in its wrapper tucked neatly into her wardrobe.
I pulled it out, and thank God it didn't need to be ironed. I hung it on her washroom door and picked out a pair of heels and a clutch from her wide collection. I took out jewellery as well and went back into her washroom.
The shower glass was covered with fog, meaning she was bathing.
"Kim, I've placed your stuff, and I mean everything you will need on the sink. You better come out dressed and ready to go."
"Yes, ma." She responded.
I went back into the hall and started picking up the trash. A few minutes later, Penny came out of her room all ready to go.
"Jay, you are still here, won't you go and finish up." She asked when she saw me still in nothing but my dress.
"I'm coming." I folded the last of the blankets and smiled at my hard work. The hall looks good as new.
Just then, the door bell rung. Oh shoot, it's Henry.
"Pen, I think my date is here. Can you please let him in whilst I finish up." I asked.
"Yeah, don't worry about it." She replied, and I rushed towards my room before she could open the door.
Although I see Henry as a friend more than an employee, it will still be pretty weird if he sees me like this.

Flashback.
"Good morning class, today we have a new student." Miss Hart, the literature teacher said.
By her side was a really cute boy. He had long hair, which was almost touching his shoulder blades and cute  brown eyes.
He was tall, too, with broad shoulders. He also had a lean physique, which made him look more alluring.
"Hi. I'm Henry." He said, and it didn't take long for the class to be filled with female whispers.
"He's so hot."
"I like his hair."
"Look at that body."
"He's almost as hot as Greg."
"Okay, class, settle down." Miss Hart yelled over the noise.
"Henry, take a swat next to Miss Anderson." Miss Hart gestured towards me, and I lifted up my hand.
"Hey." He said with a little smile when he reached his seat.
"Hey." I responded with a little smile.
End of flashback

I was done dressing up, and we had ten minutes to spare.
I walked out of my room with a little smile.
Kim was taking a picture of Penny and Henry as they giggled over something on his phone.
Kim had on a beautiful off-shoulder gold dress that stuck to her upper body like second skin but flows down beautifully from her waist. The dress also had a slit that went all the way to her mid-thigh on her right leg.
Penny had on a long sleeve deep blue dress that had an accentuated v-neck, showing a little bit of cleavage.  It was also bodycon but not as much as Kim's dress.
Henry had on a royal blue suit and was matching with Penny.
"Ahem." I cleared my throat to get their attention.
"You're looking beautiful, Jay." Penny said, getting up and rushing to my side.
I did a little bow.
"Okay, guys. Time to go." I announced.
"You sly fox. When you said you had a date, you didn't tell us that your date was Henry." Kim glares at me, making me giggle.
"You never asked." I responded slyly with an evil smirk.
Jay 1. Kim 0

***********************
I was currently in the car with Henry. Penny was in Kim's car thirdwheeling.
"I have never actually asked you this before, but what exactly are you doing in New York Jay." Henry asked, and I felt my body tense.
I should have known this question would be asked earlier. When I first saw Henry in New York, he was in such a tight spot that we didn't have any time to catch up.
He needed a stable job, and his mother's health was declining. The hospital she was at in Chicago decided to move her to New York for better treatment. He decided to drop out of school to take care of her and his sister
At that time, too, I was now opening my cafe. Since he was an old friend, I hired him to work with me, and I guess we've never actually sat down to catch up with each other's life.
"I needed a fresh start." I replied honestly.
"What happened after graduation, Jay? Everyone tried to get into contact with you, but you ignored everyone. No one knew where you and your whole family were." Henry asked, giving me a concerned look.
I didn't want to talk about it. I felt the hair on my back stand on edge as my breathing came out faster.
Flashback
"You bastard. How dare you." My mother said angrily, her palm connected angrily with my cheek.
I kept quiet, afraid that if I said something, she might get angry.
"You know what, I'm sick and tired of you messing up my plans. You are going to leave with Hannah till you pack up for college." My mother said and left.
I was still reeling from the pain, but it felt as if a weight had been lifted off my shoulders.
Leaving with Aunt Hannah was not a bad idea.
Or so I thought at that time.
End of flashback.

"Calm down, Jayna. I'm sorry, please breathe." Henry stopped the car and took my hand in his.
"Breathe." He instructed again, and I followed.
"I'm okay, I'm fine." I said after a while.
"Well, great. Cause we are here." He said, and I was glad he didn't mention what happened.
In front of the venue were dozens of paparazzi camping around waiting for a celebrity. Henry found a place to park, followed shortly after by Kim.
We stood in front of the car and watched in awe as Camillia Brookes herself stepped out of a limo and walked towards the entrance.
The cameras were flashing like crazy and she needed bodyguards to make a way for her to pass.
I heard a flash from behind and turned to see Kim holding her camera in her hand.
"What, you didn't think I was going to come empty-handed, did you." She said, and I sighed.
"Well, let's get going." Penny said excitedly, and we made it towards the entrance.
"Why couldn't we park directly in front of the entrance and walk in." Penny complained.
"Because we're not celebrities." Kim answered.
"Plus, we didn't come with fancy chauffeurs who are going to park our cars later for us." She continued.
When we reached the entrance,  I was expecting us to go in without much of a hassle, but boy, was I wrong.
