Elliott's Pov.
The door to my office suddenly burst open and in came my father, my assistant hot on his heels.
"Mr Grey, I told you, you can't go in there..".
Maria casted me an apologetic look, trying to drive my father away.
I waved my hand, dismissing her.
"Hello, Son." My father said, taking a seat in one of the chairs.
"Hey dad." I responded.
"How are you?"
"I'm okay. What about you?"
"I'm great."
An awkward silence followed as he chose his next words carefully.
"How is she?"
"Who?"
"The girl."
"Which girl?"
"The ex of that crazy bastard." He responded unfazed.
"Who told you?." I asked, shocked. No one except Brittany and George knew.
"Brittany." He responded.
"I'm going to kill her when I see her." I groaned, annoyed.
"You should never have told your sister. You know how much of a big mouth she has." My dad chuckled.
"So, how is it going?" He asked again.
"Horrible." I responded.  He arched a brow.
"She's just so closed off and reserved. Sometimes, I feel as if I'm making progress, then I say something, and suddenly,  we're back to square one." I complained.
"Is she pretty?" My dad asked.
I thought about her. Her blonde hair, her bright blue eyes, her soft pink lips.
"She's beautiful."
"Now, now son. I know that look." My father said alarmed.
"What look.?" I asked, confused.
"The one your Uncle Bill gives your Aunt Selena." He commented.
I scrunched my face in disgust as I thought about it.
"Uncle Bill looks at Aunt Selena as if she's a billion-dollar cheque."
"Exactly my point." My father said.
"Dad, Jayna's not exactly my type of woman."
"Never say never, son. Now tell me, what's the plan." He asked intrigued.
"You'll just have to wait and see dad." I said with a smile.
"As long as it brings my granddaughter home." He shook his head and walked out with a smile.
"Hey bro." The door barged open once again.
"You told dad." Those were the first words that flew out of my mouth.
She took a seat on the same chair dad sat on and threw her purse in the other chair.
"You never said I couldn't tell anyone." She said with an eyeroll.
I did never say that, but damn does she like to gossip.
"How's the plan." She asked.
"The same as before." I replied.
"Meaning?" She questioned.
"That fool has no idea we know about his whereabouts and intentions." I said with a chuckle as I thought about him.
Leon fucking Mathews. That name is nothing but a menace to my family.
"Are you really sure the man was being honest." Brittany cautiously asked.
"Yes, he was. George was able to hack into his computer.  The information there confirms with the one the man gave us." I replied honestly.
"So,any new info?" She asked, stretching out the so.
I pulled open a drawer.
After retrieving what I was looking for, I threw it in front of her.
She shot me a glare but picked up the file nevertheless.
"Hmm, Jayna Valentina Anderson. Born on the 15th of October, parents, Mr and Mrs Anderson, well duh. Hometown, Chicago. Residence, New york city, Brooklyn Blah, blah, blah. Wow, she went to culinary school. What's this, Elliott, her resume?"
I rolled my eyes at her dumbness.
"This file contains information about her."
"Every information about her life?" She asked with wide eyes.
"No, Bri, she's not so important that I'll waste precious resources finding every detail about her life." I scoffed.
She raised a brow.
"The file focuses more on her relationship with Leon Mathews." I added.
She flipped to the next page, her eyes curiosly gazing over its content.
"Take a look at these files." I pulled out three more files from the same drawer and passed them towards her.
She looked through each of them carefully.
"Can you tell the difference between these three files and that of Jayna's?" I asked.
She looked confused as she glanced through each file again.
I watched as her eyes lit up in realization.
"She was the only one who he let stick around long enough." She exclaimed.
"Bingo." I said with a smirk.
"Do you think he truly loves her?" Brittany asked, tensed.
"That monster is incapable of loving anyone, Brittany." I replied coldly.
"What about the girl? Did she love him."
I drifted back to the night of the charity event Camilia invited me to.
I was surprised to see her there. After all, how did someone like her end up in one of the most expensive events of the year.
She had been ignoring me for a while. Luckily, I was able to catch her. I remember the feeling of having her flush against me.
How blue her eyes looked, with little specks of green. How she bit her lips unconsciously. How soft her skin was, and her lips.
They were so soft, gentle,...
I was snapped out of my thoughts when a pen bounced off my head.
"Earth to Elliott." Brittany waved her hands in front of me.
I pushed her hands away and answered her question.
"I think she did. She said the last time that she was scared. The psychopath probably did something to her."
I pulled open another drawer and took out another file.
Slowly, I passed that file towards her. Her eyes turned glossy as she sucked in a deep breath.
Anita Noel Grey.
"What is this, Elliott?" Brittany shakily asked.
There was anger burning in my heart as I looked at the file.
The name of my little sister, written boldly on it.
"She was the last girl dated by that crazy lunatic." I coldly responded.
"Take a look at Jayna's picture." I instructed.
With shaking hands, she grabbed Jayna's file again and looked through her pictures.
"Jayna and Anita share similar features." I responded.
"Leon and Jayna's relationship ended on the 3rd of August, 2017 Elliott. Anita started dating Leon on the 15th of August." She whispered.
"Yes. She was just a rebound gone wrong." I concluded.
"Elliott." Brittany angrily snapped.
"What Brittany, you know it's true." I defended myself.
"She didn't know. She was young and naive." Brittany retorted.
I said nothing to that. What was there to say.
"How is it going with Jayna." Brittany asked when she realised I wasn't going to respond.
"Is a bit difficult?" I answered honestly.
"How?" she inquired.
"She's a bit too reserved, closed off." I repeated the words I told my father to her.
"Why don't you get her to trust you." Brittany suggested.
"Get her to trust me, how." I asked, confused.
" Maybe set up a few scenarios where you get to be her knight in shining amour or something." Brittany shrugged.
"That doesn't sound like a bad idea." I thought about it.
"I think you're losing your touch, bro." She said with a little smirk.
"I'm not losing my touch, sis. She's just a bit difficult.  Plus, I'm Elliott Grey. No female can resist me for too long." I said with a mirroring smirk.
"Arrogant prick." She retorted, to which I chuckled.
There was a sudden moment of silence
"I don't know, Ellie." Brittany said, looking unsure.
"All the girls Leon dated went through something traumatic during their time with him. Don't you think playing a broken girl is a bit cruel." She added.
"Jayna is not broken. She looks just fine to me. " I responded.
She still looked unsure, I didn't need her backing out of the plan now.
"Come on, Brittany. You know, if there was another way, I would have done it, but there's no other way. In a year's time,  Leon will come back to America with Anita's child. He's not coming back for no reason. He's coming back for Jayna." I reassured her.
"Okay. Let's say Jayna falls for your words and ends up falling for you. After everything is done and goes according to plan, what are you going to do with Jayna?" She asked.
"Jayna is just another human being out there who goes through more shit than an average person, Brie." I exclaimed.
"I will just break up with her." She casted me a disapproving glare.
"I'll do anything for my family, Brittany. I honestly don't give a shit about outsiders. I couldn't protect Anita from that monster, but I could protect her daughter. Like i said before, I'll do anything for my family, even if it means I have to sacrifice myself or someone else." I responded calmly.
What Brittany and everyone else in on the plan didn't know was that Leon is crazy about Jay. He'll do anything to win her back. Give anything to win her back.
The plan is quite simple.
A girl for a girl.
