Strange like a Chameleon

Just then, and against all of our expectations, Joe this time round did something that none of us could've imagined that he was capable of!

Something that instantly drove our nerves on fire, and left us completely paralyzed with an Armageddon of fear and horror!

Right away, a vigorous appendage of fear squeezed the air from my lungs!

With one very brutal force and speed, Joe plucked the whole door beside Liz off its hinges like a piece of paper in a single move, and left the entire vehicle's door mechanisms warbling and squealing in great pain from the impromptu assault.

My eyes widened with both shock and disbelief and I blinked thrice consecutively; attempting to prove that I was not dreaming!

This sudden and unexpected maneuver caused Liz to startle and to shriek with a flaming ball of fear and horror. Jolting blindly off her seat and nearly bumping hard on me, Liz spurted in the air and then landed awkwardly on my tired numb laps. I groaned from the impact. Miraculously, my head had escaped by a whisker from crashing the driver's mirror as a result of her sudden and un-pronounced move. She was trembling and looking extremely terrified. I could even hear her heart thundering with great alarm inside her chest.

Within a mere flash, our only shield had gotten bleached so easily and completely, leaving us only at the mercy of the dreaded Joe! We were absolutely cornered, defenseless and helpless!

My breathing hiked and I used every muscle in me to stifle a whimper!

Vertical wrinkles appeared between Liz's eyes.

And time appeared to slow down.

Clutching my arms around Liz's waist as if to shield her, and our eyes wide open staring at the empty space Joe had intentionally and clumsily created, we watched on with both awe and panic as Joe hurled the torn door away off the highway like a simple bucket of nothing. The door tumbled in the air recklessly and crash-landed with loud shrieking bang on an unoccupied parking section. From there, the wrecked metal skidded for a short distance on the parking floor screaming and crying before it finally got stopped abruptly by a wall of a nearby tower.

As the poor pieces of metals rested on the floor, Joe then popped his face to us via the resulted space to observe us.

Liz stirred fearfully between my arms.

Digesting the scary look on his sweat-glittering face, instantly, an enormous bullet of terror sealed my throat, on realizing how angry and threatening he was!

Joe softened his face and smeared a narrowed gaze at us, "Hello there friends, oh sorry please for my awkward action." He paused for a moment and then continued so calmly as if what he had done was nothing, "See, I was forced to do that since you two left me with no other sane option....now, I ask you again, am I still welcome onboard?"

Unfortunate to him and against his expectations, neither of us attempted to respond. After all, he had even edged us into a gigantic deep well of complete panic. We just remained there, completely petrified and breathing heavily. Totally scared and singing uncountable silent prayers that he gets to leave us alone.

But it appeared that all our internal praying efforts had terribly failed us for Joe never appeared in hurry to walk away.

Then I noticed something more confusing ensue next!

When Joe at last received absolutely nothing from us, he sighed out of disappointment. Then after observing us for a more short-lived duration, I noticed his face flip all of sudden to a very concerned one! A baffling facial appearance of someone overwhelmed with so much pity and remorse. I lost contact with my mind right there and then.
