ADAMANTINES -Human Extinction Threat

No! no! no! This should not be happening!

Alice's entire face was covered in thick dark scales which ran down past her tattered clothe, and Christine could only imagine how the lower torso looked like. Everything on her face and entire upper visible torso appeared extremely larger than that of a normal human being! Her braided black hair had completely fallen of her head and what remained now was a very scary-looking bald skull, full of some kind of blackish pimples all over. Weird horn-like protrusion stood on each side of the forehead. Though small in size, they appeared akin to those of a very young cow but a bit rough and curving outward.

The snout of this monstrous creature that was slowly taking over Alice's human form resembled that of a giant bull and very dark. Though sealed shut, its eyes looked extremely larger than those of a human and its mouth taking an oval-like shape, which also appeared to be evolving outward slowly.

Tremor-like ripples of dread reverberated across Christine's body as she took in the chilling sight before her eyes. Her face was a mask full of alarm!

What on earth has become of my lovely Alice? Christine shrieked internally, trembling and shaking. Out of immense fear and eyes glued on the strange form of Alice, she started tiptoeing backwards until only her head was left peeking inside.

Covering her mouth in order to suppress more screams, beads of tears started gathering around her terror-stricken eyes as she eyed with great pain at what she formerly knew as Alice.

Then all of sudden, Alice or rather the creature flared its giant snout and her blood went completely cold and to blow an ear-piercing scream! Its snout behaved as if it had detected an unusual smell and its eyes rolling behind its huge lids! But Christine did not wait to see what it was up to.

She jumped rearward and darted as fast as she could out of the house and locked the door from the outside immediately. Then she rotated herself slowly and leaned her back over the door; as if anticipating the creature would likely try to open it.

A disturbing sense of menace plummeted upon her, causing her heart to jack hammers as she darted her panicked eyes this way and that around the compound full of confusion. As if she was undecided on which way was the best escape route!

Then again and all of sudden, she remembered something. Something she thought was the best form of approach concerning the dire predicament she was currently in.

The number she had heard from the news while at the shopping center!

Like a shooting star, Christine cantered into her house and within seconds, she was out again, holding some kind of a touch-screen smartphone on her right hand. A cheap communication device from the past and which was regarded as useless device for the poor.

With a terrific speed and hands trembling, she ploughed her fingers over it and dialed 999. Connecting through, Christine whisked it over her right hear and listened intently for the emergency personnel to pick up. All the while darting her eyes t Alice's house and around the compound, as if an unknown ghost lurked around.

"Come on. Pick up please" Christine babbled an impatient cry. Her body was shaking tremendously.

But just when the connection was about to disconnect unanswered, a soft female voice popped up.

"Hello, this is the emergency response desk, how – ...." Christine cut her out abruptly. She was so impatient that she had no time for introductions.

"Am sorry please but I know where I was calling. I just..." she swallowed hard as if lacking better words "I just need urgent help. Something weird is happening to my daughter. S-she....s-she is-s...." Christine started to stutter, unsure what to say "I-i-think s-she h-has the c-city in-infection. Please hurry"
