Kenan's POV
The morning light filtered softly through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room. I slowly opened my eyes, feeling a sense of peace that I hadn't known in a long time. The events of the previous night played back in my mind, and a smile tugged at the corners of my lips. I turned my head to see Amelia lying beside me, still asleep, her face serene and peaceful.
She looked so beautiful, her hair spread out on the pillow, her features relaxed in sleep. I couldn't help but reach out and gently brush a strand of hair from her face, my fingers lingering on her soft skin. She stirred slightly, a small smile forming on her lips even as she slept, and my heart swelled with emotion.
Last night had been everything I had hoped for and more. It wasn't just about the physical connection, though that had been incredible. It was about the trust, the intimacy, the love that had grown between us. I had never felt this way about anyone before, and the realization of just how much she meant to me was overwhelming.
I leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead, careful not to wake her. I wanted to let her sleep a little longer, to let her rest after the intense emotions of the night before. But even as I tried to stay quiet, I couldn't resist the urge to hold her close, to feel her warmth against me.
Carefully, I wrapped an arm around her, pulling her closer to me. She sighed contentedly in her sleep, nestling against my chest, and I felt a surge of protectiveness wash over me. I wanted to shield her from the world, to keep her safe and happy. The thought of anything hurting her was unbearable.
As I lay there, holding her in my arms, I thought about how much my life had changed since meeting Amelia. I had always been focused on my career, on the next big game, the next achievement. But with her, I had found something different, something I hadn't even realized I was missing. She brought out a side of me that I hadn't known existed—a side that was softer, more vulnerable, but also stronger in ways I couldn't explain.
I wanted to make her happy, to give her everything she deserved. And last night, as we shared that intimate moment, I knew that I had made the right choice in opening my heart to her. It wasn't just about desire; it was about love, a deep, abiding love that I knew would only grow stronger with time.
Amelia stirred again, her eyes slowly fluttering open. She blinked a few times, adjusting to the light, and then her gaze met mine. A sleepy smile spread across her face, and I felt my heart skip a beat.
"Good morning, birthday boy" she murmured, her voice still heavy with sleep.
"Good morning, beautiful," I whispered back, brushing my thumb across her cheek and surprised . "Ahah, thank you.How did you sleep?"
"Better than I ever have," she admitted, her eyes shining with happiness. "Being here with you... it feels like a dream."
I chuckled softly, leaning in to kiss her gently on the lips. "Then I guess we're both dreaming, because I feel the same way."
She sighed contentedly, snuggling closer to me, and I wrapped my arms around her, holding her tightly.
We lay there in comfortable silence, just enjoying the warmth of each other's presence. I didn't want to move, didn't want to let go of this perfect moment.
But eventually, reality started to creep back in. I knew we couldn't stay in bed all day, as much as I wanted to. There were things to do, plans to be made. And today... today was special. It was my birthday, and I had a feeling Amelia had something planned as a gift. I was curious, but more than anything, I wanted to spend the day making her happy.
"I was thinking," I began, my voice soft, "since today's my birthday, maybe we could spend the morning doing something special before my party . Just the two of us."
