chapt 30.

OMNISCIENT POV-

It's been a while since the whole situation with Kevin and his father before the ending of Aubree's 6th birthday party, Kevin chose to let the situation go as he took Carmen's advice on the fact that if Kevin was to kill him it wouldn't solve his pain.

The night Kevin went after his dad was also the same night Kevin joined the drill scene, Kevin left his father bleeding out in a motel room and used his father as a punching bag to let out all his anger where he ended up doing more damage than he thought.

At first his father was fighting back but eventually gave up due to him being drunk and possibly on other substances that night, his energy wasn't there to protect himself.

Due to the heavy amounts of blood on his clothes and knuckles he did not go home that night knowing his mother was up waiting on him to get home he wasn't in his right mind to hear all his mother's questions.

Kevin was always around gangs and such as his father gave up on him, he felt like found that 'father' figure somewhere else.

One of the much older members that Kevin was around, saw him walking around his block and stopped him to ask what was up with the blood on his clothes and how stupid he looked walking around like that because the cops could've been the first to stop him.

In the member's eyes Kevin held some value to him but with the member being dead and Kevin being more into music Kevin felt like that value he once had was dead.

So for Kevin and his father the punch was enough to get him to remember that night where they both knew how that night could've turned out.

Carmen wasn't completely wrong in the fact that Kevin still held some love in his heart for his father in the sense that Kevin still saw the father that he once loved with all his heart under all the alcohol that his father submerged himself in after the death of his grandmother.

The death affected the whole family but it took a big toll on his father because Kevin's grandmother kept his father sane.

He lost his father in a drive by accident then to lose his mother to a disease that went undiagnosed for years made him go back into his old ways of being an alcoholic.

His father hated that he turned to drugs and alcohol to help him grieve his mother's death but his pain was later numb and the substances took control of his body.

His father knew what he was doing was wrong but once he sobered up he remembered all of it and it broke his heart to know that he couldn't look Jackie or Kevin in the eyes after abusing them so the cycle continued.

Every night Kevin wished that his father could get himself together but that day never came.

"Yo Carmen" Kevin called out making Carmen take her sweet time walking into his bedroom "come here I wanna ask you some".

Carmen pulled down her tight shorts as she walked over to him sitting on the end of the bed she was filled with curiosity on the pending question.

"Yo chill out it ain't none crazy" he chuckled as he watched his girlfriend furrow her eyebrows and her body tense.

Carmen relaxed hearing that it wasn't nothing she should be worried about "what is it Kay?" Kevin loved hearing Carmen's voice each time she spoke her voice got softer and softer. Carmen never had a rough or an aggressive voice as a female so when she spoke it irritated her when people didn't take her seriously because of her soft tone.
