I blinked my eyes open to the soft early morning light filtering through the blinds. My head was resting on something firm and warm, and I realized it was Zoe's chest. Last night's events swam back to me: the laughter, the comfort, the quiet whispers that filled the dark space between us until we fell asleep.
I lay there, not quite ready to break the essence of the moment, and took a deep breath. Her scent, a blend of sweet vanilla and strawberry pound cake wrapped around me like a cozy blanket.
The digital clock on her nightstand read 7:45 AM. It was a time when the world was still mostly asleep if they didn't work early jobs or have school.
Her house was extremely quiet due to the fact Zoe lives alone. But, hopefully one day we could live together. I could feel the steady rise and fall of her breathing, and the gentle rhythm of her heart beating beneath my ear. It was a sound that filled me with a sense of peace. Something, I hadn't felt in a long time.
Carefully, I shifted my weight so that she didn't wake up. I didn't want to disturb her, not yet.
I stretched my arms, yawning as I walked inside her bathroom. My feet touching the cold marble tile floors. Almost everything was covered with marble material. The counter sink, the wall, the shower, trash can even the decorative toothbrush & toothpaste holder.
I looked under her white and gold counter to see if she had any extra toothbrushes which she did. looking through the pack I pulled out a blue toothbrush.
Closing the clear bag back where I got my toothbrush from putting it back up under her counter just how she had it I grabbed the Crest toothpaste out of the marble holder and began brushing my teeth.
Rinsing my mouth with the "Listerine Cool Mint" mouth wash she had sitting on the counter I thought about how we didn't know each other as much as I wanted.
We kind of rushed into things. I wasn't complaining though of course. I wanted to take her out somewhere again but I didn't know where.
I decided to quietly walk back inside her room not wanting to wake her up. I grabbed my phone off her pink nightstand walking back inside her bathroom closing the door softly.
I called rondo and tay for help since I needed ideas on where to take her. Clicking on our group conversation "600 boys 💨🌳🔥" I pressed the FaceTime icon button and waited for them to join.
