The excitement from last week's cafe outing and impromptu volleyball game was still fresh in everyone's minds especially Y/N. Y/N had spent most of her time with Bokuto in and out of the school and she managed to watch every practice match of the boys volleyball team without being hit by the ball on the face. Simply saying, her relationship with Bokuto had gotten closer along with the team everyday but deep down, she felt something was missing.

To be honest, she was confused with her feelings. It seemed as she had a crush-a huge crush on Bokuto ever since the incident at the gym. A part of her was scared that she will ruined their friendship if she confesses but still, she wanted something more than that. She did acknowledge that she fell hard on the ace, so she decided to give it more time before confessing her feelings to him. Her mother on the other hand supported her and kept teasing her about Bokuto.

"Dear, go get him before someone snatches him away from you" or

"Oh my, I've always wanted a son. This Bokuto guy would be a great candidate for that"

I guessed I shouldn't had told her everything ... she thought.

As Bokuto walked through the school halls, he was in high spirits, eagerly looking forward to seeing Y/N and Akaashi again.

He spotted Y/N at her locker, rummaging through her bag. Bokuto bounded over, his usual exuberance on full display.

"Hey, Y/N! Guess what? I've got some epic plans for us after school today!" Bokuto announced with a grin.

Y/N looked up, her face brightening at the sight of him and her heart goes

BADUMP BADUMP BADUMP

"Oh, really? What do you have in mind?" she asked calmly, but deep down she was shy to face Bokuto since she had a crush on him.

Bokuto's eyes sparkled with mischief. "It's a surprise! But I promise it'll be a blast. You'll just have to wait and see."

Before Y/N could respond, Akaashi approached, looking calm and composed as usual. He was carrying his backpack and a few books, looking slightly surprised to see his friend so animated.

"Bokuto-san, what's with all the excitement?" Akaashi asked, raising an eyebrow.

Bokuto's face lit up even more at the sight of Akaashi.

"Akaashi! Perfect timing! We were just about to head to a new cafe after practice. You should come with us!"

Akaashi glanced at Y/N and then back at Bokuto. "Sure, I don't see why not. What's the surprise?"

Bokuto's grin widened. "It's a top-secret operation, but I promise it'll be worth it."

As the school day continued, Bokuto's excitement was palpable. By lunchtime, the trio was eagerly chatting about their plans, with Bokuto revealing that he had discovered a new cafe that had recently opened and had a variety of exciting menu items.

During lunch, as Bokuto regaled them with details about the cafe, a girl who used to be in the same class as Bokuto, Yumi, approached their table. She was cheerful and had a warm smile that immediately caught Bokuto's attention.

"Hey, Bokuto!" Yumi said, giving him a friendly wave.

Bokuto looked up, his smile widening. "Hey, Yumi! What's up?"

Yumi glanced at Y/N and Akaashi before focusing her attention on Bokuto.

"I was just wondering if you'd be free this weekend. There's a new movie coming out, and I thought it'd be fun to catch it together."

Bokuto, caught off guard, hesitated for a moment. The idea of spending time with Yumi made him feel a bit uneasy, especially with the way she was looking at him. He glanced at Y/N and Akaashi, who were now watching with curious expressions.

"Oh, um, that sounds cool," Bokuto said, trying to keep his tone casual. "But actually, I've got plans with my friends today after school. Maybe another time?"

Yumi, not ready to give up, tried to press the issue. "Actually, if you're free right now, we could hang out. I don't mind if your friends join us."

Y/N, who had been listening intently, could sense the underlying tension. Her smile faltered slightly as she tried to mask her discomfort. She knew that Bokuto was feeling uneasy about the situation. At the same time, she could feel a pang of jealousy.

This girl don't know how to give up is it?

"Actually, Yumi, we were just about to head out," Y/N said, stepping in. "Maybe we can all hang out another time?" in her monotone voice.

Yumi seemed taken aback but quickly recovered. "Oh, sure. I guess I'll see you around, Bokuto."

As Yumi walked away, Bokuto looked over Y/N and for the first time he was surprised and scared to see how serious Y/N was.

Is she, mad?

Y/N turned to Bokuto with a reassuring smile. "It's alright, Bokuto. We can still have fun. We've got our plans, remember?"

Bokuto nodded, his expression a mix of relief and frustration. "Yeah, you're right. I just... didn't expect that. Thanks for understanding."

Akaashi, who had been quietly observing, nodded. "Let's not let this spoil our day. We can still enjoy our time together."

As Y/N, Akaashi, and Bokuto left the school, Bokuto's mood gradually improved. The earlier tension faded as they walked to their favorite cafe, the familiar environment helping him feel more at ease. The café visit turned out to be just as enjoyable as he had hoped, with good food and great company.

During their time at the cafe, Bokuto found himself appreciating the warmth and support from Y/N and Akaashi even more.

As the day ended and they parted ways, Bokuto felt a renewed sense of gratitude for his friends. Despite the unexpected encounter with Yumi, he realized how important it was to cherish the time spent with Y/N and Akaashi. But deep down, the owl-looking boy had a mixed feeling towards Y/N.
