The sky had been overcast all day, and by the time school ended, the rain had started coming down in heavy sheets. Students hurried to leave, pulling out umbrellas and rushing to avoid getting drenched.

Inside the school gym, the Fukurodani volleyball team was wrapping up their late practice session. Bokuto stretched his arms overhead and groaned, feeling the satisfying ached of a hard day's work.

Akaashi, already packing up his things, glanced out the gym window at the pouring rain.

"It's really coming down out there," he remarked, adjusting his bag on his shoulder.

Bokuto, still in high spirits despite the weather, grinned.

"Rain's no big deal! A little water won't stop me!"

But when he reached for his bag and realized something important was missing, his grin faltered.

"Wait....where's my umbrella?" Bokuto looked around frantically, digging through his things.

"I think I left it at home!"

Akaashi and the team chuckled softly.

"Well, that's unfortunate." Akaashi said. Then, with a knowing look in his eyes, he added, "I think the rest of us should head out. You and Y/N will be alright, right?"

Bokuto blinked, confused for a moment, but Akaashi pointed out a figure standing by the doors. Bokuto glanced over the direction Akaashi had pointed and saw Y/N, with her own umbrella in hand. His heart did a little flip at the thought of spending some time along with her in the rain. (sounds cliche)

One by one, the rest of the team made their excuses and headed out, and patted his shoulder, leaving only Bokuto and Y/N in the gym.

Have fun, Bokuto-san

But not too fun

HAHAHAHHAHAAHHA

The heavy rain continued to pound against the window, and the sky was growing darker by the minute.

"Looks like it's just us," Bokuto said with a sheepish smile, scratching the back of his neck.

Y/N looked over him with a teasing grin.

"Forgot your umbrella, huh?"

Bokuto laughed awkwardly.

"Yeah...seems like it but I swear I always have an umbrella in my bag."

"Come on, we can share. No point in you getting soaked" she said.

Bokuto felt his heart skip a beat as she held the umbrella above them.

"Are you sure? I don't want to crowd you..."

"You won't, Bokuto," Y/N assured him with a smile. "Let's go before the rain gets worse."

Together, they stepped out into the storm, the small umbrella barely covering them both. As they walked, the rain seemed to fall even harder, making it difficult to see more than a few feet ahead. The streets were quiet and the air was cool. Bokuto found himself walking closer to Y/N, their shoulders brushing under the umbrella. Every time they bumped into each other, a spark of warmth shot through him despite the cold rain.

It wasn't long before they reached a crossroads. Bokuto realized how late it was and how far his house was.

'Man, my place is still pretty far...and I don't want you walking all the way there just to drop me off."

Y/N looked around at the darkening streets and then back at Bokuto, her expression softening with concern.

"It's getting pretty late, and the rain isn't letting up. You should just come over to my place. We're closer to my house anyway, and you can stay the night. Just don't forget to inform your parents though."
