Ntsika's POV:

......
Break!!!!

I strolled down the hallway, feeling like the king of the school. My encounter with Melokuhle had left me grinning. I spotted my friends, Thabo, Bafana, Sipho, and new addition, Kagiso, standing by their lockers.

Me: "Sawubona (hello), boiz!" I said, fist-pumping the squad

Thabo: "Sawubona, Ntsika! What's good, bruhh?"

Sipho: "I heard you got under Melokuhle's skin again, Ntsika," he said with a smirking.

Me: "Ja, that girl's a bhizi ( troublemaker), always stressing about something," I said, chuckling.

Kagiso nodded in agreement.
Kagiso: "You're also a troublemaker , Ntsika. Always causing a stir."

Bafana: "You're like a magnet for trouble, bro." He said laughing

We chatted and laughed, discussing our plans for the weekend. As we talked, I noticed a few girls eyeing me

Me: "Later, boiz. I've got a meeting with...someone."

Thabo: "Ooh, sounds like umjolo, Ntsika,"

Me: "None of your business, bro," I replied with a wink.

Sipho: "Is it another conquest?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

I just smiled and walked off, leaving my friends to wonder.

---

What's up, I'm Ntsikayomuzi Ntando Nkosi, but you can call me Ntsika! I'm a 16-year-old charmer from Beacon Bay, living my best life with my amazing family. My parents, Phumzile and Bheki Nkosi, are the real MVPs - they've built a successful business and a rep for being kind and generous. I'm one of six siblings - Nolwazi, Mlungisi, Nonkululeko, Bandile, and Sibusisiwe - and let me tell you, it's never boring at the Nkosi household! Family is everything to me, and I'm proud to be part of a crew that's all about love, support, and making a difference in our community. When I'm not crushing it at school, you can find me chilling with my squad or scheming up my next move.

........

As I turned the corner, I collided with Melokuhle, who was rushing in the opposite direction. Books and papers went flying in all directions.

Melo: "Watch where you're going, Ntsikayomuzi!" Melokuhle shouted, her eyes blazing with anger.

Me: "Your fault, Bhengu!" I shot back, bending down to help her pick up her scattered books.

Me: "You're always in such a rush, you can't even see where you're going!"

Melokuhle stood up, her face red with rage.
Melo: "I'm not the one who's always causing trouble and getting in the way!"

I smirked, standing up to face her.
Me: "Oh, so now you're perfect, huh? Miss Goody Two-Shoes?"

Melo: "At least I don't have a reputation for being a troublemaker!" she said rolling her eyes

Yeses lo uyangiphaphela(she's too forward) I took a step closer, my mind racing with a sharp comeback.

Me: "You know, Bhengu, you're so-"

The bell rang out, loud and clear, signaling the end of break.

Me: "Saved by the bell, Bhengu!" I said with a grin, turning to head back to class.

Melo: "This isn't over, Ntsika." she scowled, shaking her head

I just chuckled and kept walking, knowing our rivalry was far from over...

......

I walked into class, still grinning from my encounter with Melokuhle. She thought she was so much better than me, but I knew the truth. We were both just trying to survive high school.

As I took my seat, Sipho nudged me. Sipho: "What's got you so happy, Ntsika?"

I leaned in, whispering,
Me: "Just had a run-in with Bhengu. She's still got that stick up her butt."

Sipho: "You two are like fire and ice, always clashing." He chucked

I shrugged.
Me: "Hey, someone's got to keep things interesting around here."

The teacher started the lesson, but I couldn't focus. My mind kept wandering back to Melokuhle. What was her problem, anyway? Why did she always have to be so uptight?

And then, I saw her. Sitting across the room, her eyes fixed on me with a look of pure disdain. I smirked, knowing I'd gotten under her skin.Well we are in the same class as we are both doing pure math

.....
As the lesson dragged on, I found myself glancing over at Melokuhle more and more. She was engrossed in her notes, but I could sense her awareness of me. It was like an unspoken challenge, a silent game of cat and mouse.

When the bell rang, signaling the end of class, I was the first to stand up. Melokuhle followed suit, her eyes locked on mine as we both reached for our bags.

Melo: "You think you're so clever, don't you, Ntsikayomuzi?" she whispered, her voice barely audible over the din of the classroom.

Me: "I just speak my mind, Bhengu. You're the one who's always so sensitive." I grinned, shouldering my bag

Her eyes flashed with anger, but before she could respond, our teacher intervened.

Mrs Smith: "Alright, alright, let's keep the discussion for later. You two can continue this outside."

Melokuhle and I exchanged a look, the tension between us palpable. It was clear that this wasn't over. Not by a long shot.

We walked out of the classroom, side by side, but worlds apart. The air was thick with tension as we navigated the crowded hallway.

Suddenly, Melokuhle stopped dead in her tracks.

Melo: "You know what Ntsika, I've had enough of your games."

I turned to face her, my heart racing with anticipation.
Me: "Oh, this should be good."

But before she could say another word, a group of seniors burst into the hallway, laughing and joking. One of them, a tall, athletic guy, caught my eye.

Tall athletic guy: "Hey, Ntsika! What's up, man?" he called out, clapping me on the back.

I smiled, playing along.
Me: "Not much, Sibusiso. Just dealing with Bhengu here."

Sibusiso followed my gaze to Melokuhle, who was seething with anger.
Sibusiso: "Ah, Melokuhle, my love! What's wrong? Ntsika here not treating you right?"

Melokuhle's eyes narrowed.
Melo:"Sibusiso, stay out of this."

But Sibusiso just chuckled.
Sibusiso: "Oh, I'm shaking in my boots, Bhengu. You know I'm just trying to keep the peace."

Me: "Yeah, right. You're just trying to stir up drama." I snorted

Sibusiso :"Hey, someone's got to keep things interesting around here.". He grinned

Melokuhle's face turned bright red with annoyance.
Melo: "Sibusiso, stop it."

I chuckled, enjoying the exchange.
Me: "Yeah, Sibusiso, leave her alone. She's not in the mood."

Sibusiso :"Okay, okay, I'll leave you two lovebirds alone." He held up his hands in mock surrender

Melokuhle's eyes flashed with anger, but I just laughed.
Melo: "You're not helping, Sibusiso."

He grinned and walked off, whistling a jaunty tune. Melokuhle turned to me, her expression still fierce.

Melo: "This isn't over, Ntsika."

Me: "I'm shaking in my boots, Bhengu." I shruggled

But as we parted ways, I couldn't help but feel a spark of excitement. Our rivalry was far from over, and I couldn't wait to see what would happen next...
