3 months later : October

It's been 3 months now and honestly speaking life has been just okay but a little bit shaky. My argument with Ntsika was resolved 3 weeks after we had it and honestly the credit goes to the squad cause they were just tired of the silent treatment we were giving each other and they decided to fix our shit for us.

But nonetheless we , well me and Ntsika, we've been okay I guess cause we kinda have been arguing and fixing a lot recently, he also apologised for doubting me without knowing the whole story but honestly it hurts that he thought I was cheating like the fuck guys literally mxm kodwa it's water under the bridge I guess.

Today I'm meeting Ntsika's mom for lunch, his mom only for now cause apparently she was tired of Ntsika always talking about a Melo she hasn't met yet so she decided that she wants to put a face to this babe of Ntsika's and I guess today is the day she puts the face.

I walked in my walk-in closet , scanning the rows of clothes for the perfect outfit. Once I was dressed, I grabbed my bag and headed downstairs. The house was empty, everyone had gone out for the day. I was alone.

I pulled out my phone and requested an Uber, watching as the estimated arrival time popped up on the screen - 20 minutes

I pulled out my phone and requested an Uber, watching as the estimated arrival time popped up on the screen - 20 minutes. I had just enough time to grab a snack before I left.

I wandered into the kitchen, opening the cabinet to reveal a stash of granola bars and crackers cause like it would be too rude and disrespectful of me to eat lunch cause what if I ate too much and got full?

Just as I was finishing up my snack, my phone buzzed. My Uber had arrived. I grabbed my bag and headed out the door, locking it behind me.

I slid into the backseat of the car and it headed to McDonald's, I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves. This was it, my first meeting with one of Ntsika's family members.

..........
As I walked into the McDonald's, I scanned the room for Ntsika. My eyes landed on him sitting at a table with a woman in her early 40s, who I assumed was his mom. She had a warm smile on her face and her hair was styled in a neat bob. Ntsika was sipping on a drink and looked up at me with a bright smile.I took a deep breath,  and walked over to them.

"Hey," I said, trying to sound casual.

Ntsika stood up and smiled, while his mom looked up at me with a warm smile.

"Hi," she said. "Take a seat."

I sat down next to Ntsika, feeling a little nervous. The chair was a bit stiff, and I fidgeted with my hands.

"I'm Melo," I said, trying to sound confident.

Ntsika's mom smiled again. "I know, Melokuhle Bhengu. I'm Ntsika's mom, you can call me Phumzile, well please call me Phumzile."
