Melo: "What do you want, Ntsikayomuzi?"
Me: "Just thought we could walk together. You know, call a truce."
Melo: "You think a simple walk will make us friends?"
Me: "No, but it's a start."

When 15-year-old Melokuhle Nanayemhle Bhengu and...
I woke up early, feeling nerves coursing through my veins. Today was the day I would officially accept my calling, and I couldn't wait to see what the day had in store. I would also be attaining a spiritual guide, but I had no idea who she was or how I would find her or maybe a he. Gogo Nokwanda hadn't given me any details, so I would just have to wait and see.
I quickly got out of bed and began my morning routine. I washed my face, brushed my teeth, and did a quick skincare routine to make sure my skin was looking its best. I slipped into a casual outfit, knowing that I didn't have anything that met Gogo Nokwanda's expectations. She had promised to give me something suitable when I arrived, so I didn't worry too much about it.

As I made my way to the lounge, I could smell the delicious aroma of breakfast wafting through the air. My family more like my parents and aunts and uncles but then Aunt Maria was not here I wonder where she went, they just gathered around the table, eating and chatting, but unfortunately for me I wasn't supposed to eat for reasons I don't know why.
"At least eat an apple, Melo."
I shook my head firmly. "Cha Baba," I replied, trying to sound confident.
My dad started to say, "This is why I didn't want you to d....."
But before he could finish, my mom interrupted him. "Nana, how are you feeling, baby?" she asked, looking at me with concern.
I took a deep breath and smiled. "I'm feeling better than ever, Ma," I replied, trying to reassure her. "Can we leave already?"
My dad stood up, and my mom and I followed him to the car. The anticipation was building up inside me, and I couldn't wait to see what the day had in store. I took one last look at our house, feeling a sense of excitement and nervousness, and then we set off.
As we arrived at Gogo Nokwanda's hut, I couldn't help but notice its grandeur. It was the largest hut in the area, surrounded by a cluster of smaller ones, and nestled among the majestic trees that seemed to stretch up to the sky.
We took off our shoes and stepped inside the hut, where Gogo Nokwanda gestured for us to sit on the colorful mats scattered across the floor. The air was thick with the scent of burning essence, which Gogo Nokwanda lit as we sat down.
She looked at me with an intense gaze, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. I glanced at my dad, then back at Gogo Nokwanda. "Izithakazelo," she said. I do know my clan names hawu , how do y'all take me .
