I stood in front of the mirror, eyeing the outfit I had picked out earlier that literally took 30+ minutes to decide. Ntsika had planned this whole weekend getaway for his 18th birthday with the squad and family invited.

His birthday is tomorrow and we will be alone from today till tomorrow evening as his family members will come to the hotel tomorrow evening for his birthday what what . His dad has a share in the hotel so like yeahhh.

Before I could spiral into a full-on outfit crisis, a loud knock interrupted my thoughts.

"Come i-"

The door swung open before I could finish, and I let out a small laugh, already knowing who it was. That's Candy for you.

"Yoh, you look pretty," she said, stepping inside like she owned the place.

I turned to her, raising an eyebrow. "Really?"

"Yep," Candy grinned. "Like, really really pretty."

I chuckled. "You too, man. You always do."

Candy flipped her hair dramatically. "I know, I know."

Before I could respond, my phone buzzed with a message. I glanced at the screen ~Babe we are here~

I looked up at Candy. "They've arrived."

"Iyesss!" Candy squealed, already reaching for her bag.

I grabbed my own weekend bag, taking a deep breath before heading downstairs with her. I'm taking Candy along , it was either that or I was not gonna go to the getaway cause remember Candy came here from England for me so like . Ntsika wasn't okay with it at first but it's not like he was gonna do anything about it.

When we reached the downstairs, my mom looked up from the couch, a soft smile on her face. "Are you already leaving?" she asked, her voice warm but slightly concerned.

"Yes, Ma," I nodded. "We still have to pick up Liyanda, Sipho, and the rest, so we need to get going."

She sighed lightly but didn't protest. "Alright, please stay safe. And tell Ntsika happy birthday on my behalf, okay?"

I smiled. "Will do." Then I smirked playfully. "And both of you should also enjoy your baecation."

My mom chuckled while my dad, who had just walked in from the kitchen, shook his head at me. "Wena ," he pointed at me, "if you need anything, call me immediately, no matter the time." His voice carried that firm, protective tone .

I softened, stepping forward to give him a hug. "I will, Baba. I love y'all very much."

Candy, who had been quietly observing, clapped her hands together. "Bye-bye, lovebirds," she teased my parents, making my mom laugh and my dad shake his head again with a smile.

With that, we waved goodbye and stepped out of the house, the warm morning air wrapping around us. Parked outside was a sleek Hyundai Palisade, the perfect car for a trip like this. It had more than enough seats, ensuring everyone would be comfortable, and the tinted windows gave it a bit of a VIP feel.

The morning sun kissed my skin, and I took a deep breath of the fresh air. The excitement of the weekend ahead bubbled inside me, but I tried to keep my cool. Candy walked beside me, her signature confident strut making it look like she owned the place.

Just as we reached the car, the door opened, and out stepped Ntsika. His effortless swag made him stand out even in a simple outfit. A warm smile spread across his face as he walked toward me, pulling me into a hug. His scent-clean, fresh, and familiar instantly relaxed me.
