"No! Where is it!?"
You panted as you searched through all the drawers of your desk. But no matter how many times you pulled them out of their holders and shook them upside down, you still couldn't find it. Your room had become a mess - clothes stuck out from the closet, books knocked down from the shelves, bottles and jars scattered throughout the floor - all because you couldn't find your damn phone.
This wasn't the first time you couldn't find it though. Every time you thought you had lost it, it somehow appeared out of nowhere at a place you would have least expected it to be - like that time when you found your phone in a pickle jar you stored in the fridge.
But today, it was different. The pickle jar in the fridge was empty, and you wouldn't make the same mistake again anyway. But you still checked all the jars in the fridge just in case.
After turning your whole apartment into a pigsty, you finally sat down on the floor, hitting your head with your fist to make it remember where you put your phone. A few hits after, your brain actually started to work and you recalled.
"No way... Don't tell me..." You hurried to the closet and opened the top drawer. "It's... It's not here!" you panicked. "I left my purse back in that damn house!"
It's been hours since you came back from your neighbours' place. During this whole time, your mind was only focused on trying to remember the things that happened last night, though that didn't go so well. So when you thought of calling one of your friends to ask them about yesterday, you suddenly realised that your phone was missing.
You were sure that you put it somewhere and forgot about it - like you always did. But after turning your whole apartment upside down, you finally realised - you left the two things: your purse and your phone, back at your neighbours' place.
You bit your lip, letting out a fairly annoyed grunt as you picked an empty plastic jar up from the ground and threw it on the wall. After what happened in the morning, going back to see that bastard again was the last thing you wanted to do.
But you had no choice. You needed your phone. You'd go extinct if you spent even a day without it. So in the end, you made a choice - It was to get your phone back, but without being noticed.
You were sneaking into their house.
For a moment, you wondered if that was a good idea. What if you got caught? And what if they called the police right after? How would you get out of that? Would they call your parents too? What would you say to them then? And things could get even worse from that point on. But even after knowing all that, you still didn't want to show your face to any of the two brothers. It just felt too awkward and humiliating.
So in the end, you got changed into a white t-shirt and jeans before you started for their house. But before you left, you reminded yourself to take a pocket knife in case something bad happened.
As you stood in front of their house, you slightly pushed the door, opening a thin crack to see the status inside. Apparently, the lights were on, but you couldn't find anyone in the room. You opened the door a bit further, still inspecting if someone was there. And it seemed that the luck was on your side today, since no one was in the lobby at the time.
You invited yourself in, and mistakenly pushed an empty beer bottle on the ground with your foot, causing it to roll over to the couch on the side. That was when you noticed you weren't actually alone in the room. Someone was lying on the couch with his face covered with a magazine. No doubt it was that douchebag.
But luck was still on your side because the guy was actually asleep, like a log. He didn't wake or notice you coming in uninvited. You could kind of hear the snores he made as he slept, and that made you relieved.
