1. Bhojpur Temple, Bhopal

The Bhojpur Temple, an ancient structure dedicated to Lord Shiva is said to be haunted by the spirit of a priest who performed rituals here centuries ago. Locals believe his spirit still lingers, protecting the temple from harm. Visitors have reported hearing the sound of temple bells ringing on their own and have felt an inexplicable sense of unease after dark.

2. Raisen Fort, Raisen

Raisen Fort is one of the most haunted places in Madhya Pradesh, where the ghost of queen Rani  Ratnavati is said to wander. The queen who died to escape capture, is believed to haunt the fort to this day. Many visitors have claimed to hear the cries of the queen and the clashing of swords during the night. Some even have felt cold breeze sweeping through the fort, despite the hot weather.

3. Chanderi Fort, Chanderi

The Chanderi fort is said to be haunted by a young girl who died tragically within its walls. Her restless spirit is believed to roam the fort, especially near the ruins of the old palace. Visitors have reported seeing the apparition of a girl in a white dress, and many have felt an eerie presence while exploring the fort at night.

4. Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak 

This university, located in the peaceful town of Amarkantak, is rumored to be haunted by the spirit of a student who died. His spirit is said to wander the campus, especially near the hostel where he stayed. Students have reported hearing footsteps in empty corridors, feeling sudden chills, and seeing shadowy figures at night.

5. Asirgarh Fort, Burhanpur 

Asirgarh Fort is infamous for its haunted history, with tales of spirits dating back to the Mughal era. The most popular legends involve around the spirits of a beautiful woman who was betrayed by a Mughal prince. Those who visit the fort after sunset have reported hearing the faint sound of a woman singing, followed by a sudden drop in temperature and the feeling of being watched.
