From haunted forts to cursed villages, Gujarat has not shortage of ghostly stories perfect for readers looking for thrills and chills. Here are some of the most haunted places:

1. Dumas Beach, Surat

Dumas beach is infamous for being one of the most haunted places in Gujarat. Originally a Hindu burial ground, it is said that the spirits of those cremated here wander the beach at night. Locals warn visitors against venturing here at night. People have reported hearing strange whispers, especially at night, and some have claimed to have seen shadowy figures disappearing into mist.

2. Uparkot Fort, Junagadh

Uparkot fort, an ancient struture with a long history of battles and bloodshed, is believed  to be haunted by the spirits of soldiers who died within its walls. There are stories of ghostly apparitions appearing near fort's ancient walls and tunnels. 5. Bagh Lal Bungalow, Surat

Bagh Lal Bungalow is one of the most infamous haunted places in Gujarat. The eerie mansion was abandoned years ago, but locals believe the spirit of its former owner still resides there. It's said that strange occurrences like moving objects and ghostly apparitions have been spotted here. Visitors have reported hearing loud noises, such as furniture being moved, and others claim to have seen figures standing in the windows, despite the bungalow being empty.

6. Dholavira Ruins, Kutch

Dholavira, an ancient city of the Indus Valley Civilization, is not just an Archaeological Wonder but also a place said to be haunted. With its long history , there are stories of restless spirits wandering the ruins at night. Archaeologists and Visitors have claimed to feel a chilling presence in the ruins especially after sunset. 7. Gaurishankar Lake, Bhavnagar 

This Picturesque lake has a darker side. It is said that the spirit of woman who drowned in the lake haunts the area. Locals claim to have seen her ghostly figure wandering the near the water's edge, especially during the late evening. People have reported hearing mysterious splashing sounds from the water lake and have seen an apparition of a woman by the water, before vanishing into thin air.

8. Avadh Palace, Rajkot

Avadh Palace is an old and grand mansion believed to be haunted by its former owner. It is said that the owner, who died under tragic circumstances, never left the mansion, and his spirit still resides here. Passerby have reported hearing the sound of footsteps and occasional flickering lights in the palace, even though it has been abandoned for years.
