Shaina Singhania.

Nervous. Disrupted. Anxious.

It was my engagement day already and I had no fucking clue how much more time would this engagement take from me. I don't know when our marriage topic will finally come to become the hot topic of the tabloids.

As he promised, this engagement party is intimate with a very little people invited and it was organised on the terrace of my house which was big enough to accommodate everyone. The chaos from outside my room is quite an evidence that they're here already.

I was sitting in my room before the dressing table all decked up for a man I don't want be the wife of. I agree, I had this irrational feeling of wanting to know him better but it was swiftly crushing into some unjustified anger and frustration towards this whole thing. It was taking my identity from me. My business. My position. Aryahi.

I glanced down at the bright red mahawar applied on my hands painting the tips of my fingers and nails in its beauty. Two circles were drawn on the either sides of my hands with a different pattern around them of both sides while they matched on the same side of both of my hands.

I had a dozen of mulberry bangles in my left hand while my right hand had a thin bracelet just so it's not left empty.

I slowly lifted my eyes to look at myself in the mirror. I looked pretty like a doll, so pretty that I might have fell in love with this version of myself; bride of Yuvraaj Singh Shekhawat.

My hair were tied up in a bun but my curly hair gave it a messy look while a few hair were deliberately left to fall on my face. It just looked really soothing. Beauty to my mess.

My ears had dazzling diamond earrings and a little matching nose pin on my nose and I left my neck empty. My eyes looked empty but the mulberry red eyeshadow, a little layer of kajal and the eyeliner enhanced the beauty of my doe eyes. A shade of deep red lipstick was making me look royal, it enhanced the beauty of my honey skin.

I wore a mulberry lehenga as he asked me to, it had a simple velvet full sleeve blouse and my skirt was heavy. It had intricate patterns on the uppermost layer which had a fabric of chiffon and lace at the bottom and my dupatta was of the same fabric and patterns of the uppermost layer of my lehnga adjusted properly around my chest on both of my shoulders.

So beautiful. I couldn't help but stare at myself for a long moment. If only I had the glow of the real bride how much more beautiful would I have looked? I sighed before I looked away from myself blinking furiously to take my tears back.

My mobile phone rang making echoing sounds in the whole room and I looked at it lying on my bed but I diverted my attention to a few photo frames I had hung just a few inches above my bed's headrest and a few of Aryahi and me on my bedside table.

The white fluffy carpet on the floor by my side of bed caught my attention and then I lifted my skirt a little to see the mahawar I had on my feet and the same anklets dad gifted me around my feet. It'll ruin my carpet.

I picked my sandals which were kept in the space between my cupboard and dressing table before I slipped my feet into it.

I dropped myself on my bed in a sitting position before I checked the caller ID. Mridula.
