Rosalie's pov - new moon.

When she told Edward that Bella was dead.

Trigger warning - self harm, self loathing, blood.

---------

Rosalie was consumed by a tempest of emotions. Guilt, shame, and a deep-seated fear gnawed at her. She had inadvertently set in motion a chain of events that would lead to Edward's demise. The thought of him, forever lost to her, was unbearable.

Her mind raced, trying to find a way to undo the damage. But there was no turning back. She had crossed a line, and the consequences were irreversible. The image of Edward, standing before the Volturi, his eyes filled with a mixture of love and despair, haunted her.

Rosalie's self-loathing intensified. She had always prided herself on her control, her ability to maintain a facade of indifference. But now, she was a broken shell, her carefully constructed persona shattered. She was a monster, capable of causing irreparable harm to those she loved.

It's all my fault, my fault,my fault,my fault,my fault,my fault,my fault,my fault.

She fell to her knees, her body wracked with sobs. Her nails dug into her glowy, soft skin, leaving deep ugly gouges. The pain was a welcome distraction from the torment within.

She longed for deeper physical pain, anything to numb the emotional anguish that consumed her.

As the sun began to rise, casting long, eerie shadows across the forest, Rosalie remained huddled on the ground.

She was alone, lost in a world of her own making. And she knew that there was no escape from the consequences of her actions.

Emmett's Pov:

The scent of blood, metallic and sharp, ripped Emmett from his hunting trance. It wasn't the usual scent of prey, but something closer to home - Rosalie's blood. Panic jolted through him, propelling him towards their clearing at an inhuman speed.

He burst through the trees, his heart hammering in his chest, to find Rosalie kneeling in a crumpled heap. Her golden hair, usually immaculate, hung in tangled disarray around her face, which was streaked with tears.

But it was the sight of her arms that truly horrified him. Long, bloody gouges ran down her pale skin, some already scabbing over, others fresh and weeping. Her normally pristine white fingernails were broken and torn, tinged crimson.

"Rose?" His voice came out rough, a growl laced with worry. Rosalie didn't react. Her entire body trembled, a constant murmur escaping her lips.

"It's all my fault. My fault. My fault," she repeated over and over, a broken mantra of self-inflicted pain.

Emmett's fear morphed into a cold fury. Someone, something, had hurt his Rosalie. He knelt beside her, his large form dwarfing hers. Taking a deep breath, he forced his voice into a calm, commanding tone.

"ROSE!" His growl resonated through the clearing, snapping Rosalie out of her daze. Her tear-filled eyes met his, a flicker of recognition flickering within their depths.

"Emmett!" The despair in her voice ripped a hole through his heart. He had never seen her like this, so utterly broken. In that moment, the reason for her state didn't matter. All that mattered was her.

"Hey, hey," he soothed, gently cupping her face in his massive hands. "It's okay. I'm here now." Her trembling intensified as she leaned into his touch, the only source of comfort in her world of self-loathing.

"EMMETT!... help..." she her scream broke off into a choked off sob, her voice barely audible.

Emmett knew then that fixing the situation could wait. Right now, Rosalie needed him, not answers. He carefully scooped her into his arms, her slight frame swallowed by his broad chest. The scent of her blood filled his senses, a stark contrast to the calming lavender he usually associated with her.

He held her close, whispering reassurances against her hair, his heart vowing to mend whatever had broken her. As he carried her deeper into the woods, away from the rising sun and the harsh light of day, he knew he would do whatever it took to bring his Rosalie back from the brink.
