Alice's pov:

The ice beneath our skates was a mirror, reflecting the twinkling lights of the rink and the joyful faces of our family. Jasper and I glided effortlessly, our movements a synchronised dance. I could feel his strength, his unwavering support. As we performed the craziest tricks we could imagine, a sense of peace washed over me. I knew, no matter what, Jasper would always be there to catch me, to keep me safe.

After hours of exhilarating skating, we slowed our pace, content to simply glide along, watching our loved ones. Bella, the clumsy goose, narrowly avoided a hilarious tumble, but Edward was there to catch her, his face filled with amusement and concern.

Rose and Emmett were a sight to behold, their movements perfectly in sync. Rose's jumps were slowly getting higher, her landings more graceful than ever before. Emmett's laughter echoed through the rink as he silently cheered her on, his eyes filled with admiration.

Esme and Carlisle skated hand-in-hand, their faces serene and content. Watching them, I couldn't help but smile. They were the heart of our family, their love a constant source of comfort and strength. As we continued to skate, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for the life I had been given. Surrounded by the love of my family, I knew I had everything I could ever want.

--------------

Jasper and I glided to a halt on the edge of the icy lake as we watched Rose prepare for her extra large jump. She waved Emmett away, confident in her abilities. It turned out to be a grave mistake. Had he been closer, he might have been able to catch her.

I noticed a tiny crack in the ice, a hairline fracture that seemed almost insignificant. But I knew the danger it posed. I screamed a warning, my voice echoing across the frozen lake. Rose heard me, her head snapping around in alarm. The sudden movement threw her off balance, and she plummeted into the icy water.

Her hand caught the edge of the ice, but it was too late. The crack widened, and the water pulled her under. I saw her hand, now ripped and crimson-stained, disappear beneath the surface.

Emmett slid to his knees, his face a mask of horror. "Rose!" he cried. Then, with no hesitation, slid into the icy water.

Carlisle took charge, his voice calm and authoritative. "We need to find her quickly," he said, his eyes scanning the surface of the lake. "Alice, what can you see?"

I looked into the future, my vision filled with the image of Rose, unconscious and struggling to breathe. I saw Emmett, his face pale and drawn, pulling her from the water. But I also saw the darkness, the cold, the unforgiving depths of the lake.

------------

We had followed the dark shadows along the lake trying to hep locate them to no advail. Suddenly a shadow swum closer. The ice beneath Esme's feet began to shudder, then crack. She slid away quickly, her eyes wide with fear and hope.

A spray of water erupted as Emmett emerged from the depths, Rose clutched in his arms. She was shivering, her skin cracked and porcelain-like. The shock of the cold had taken its toll, leaving her body marked with a grotesque pattern of cracks.

A large crack ran from Rose's left eye down to her nape, disappearing beneath her clothing. Smaller cracks crisscrossed her arms, evidence of her desperate attempts to break through the ice. Her palms were scarred, the result of her frantic grip on the edge of the frozen lake.

Esme gasped, her voice filled with horror. "Oh my goodness!"

Emmett dragged Rose onto the ice, his movements swift and determined. "Jasper, help me get her up," he shouted, his voice barely above a whisper.

A chorus of exclamations erupted from the others as they rushed to Rose's side. She groaned in pain, her body trembling uncontrollably.

"Ow," she muttered, her voice barely audible. "My skin... This is going to scar, isn't it?"

A ripple of incredilous laughter ran through the group. Even in the face of such a terrifying ordeal, Rose's sense of dry humour remained intact.
