"You sure you don't want to come back with us, Odie?" Pandora asked the girl once more as people began filing out.
Odessa shook her head, "I should really be getting back to Hufflepuff, at least tonight." She persisted. It wouldn't be easy to face her housemate, but she couldn't just avoid them forever.
As she began to leave, Regulus stood up beside her. "Want to head off to the library first?" He asked her as he slid his own hand into hers.
The girl paused. "I shouldn't..." She looked up to see his face, pouting ever so slightly. "Reggie, we cannot be there after hours-"
"We won't be." He insisted.
"Curfew is within the hour." She reminded the boy.
He raised his hand to run it delicately through her hair and up against her cheek. "We'll be fine." He insisted. He leaned in close to whisper in her ear, "As long as they don't catch us, we'll be back by curfew." He offered slyly.
"But..."
"Don't you want to try summoning your sirin again? When was the last time you tried?" He asked, steering her to the answer he was waiting on.
She shifted her footing, "not since June." The girl thought back to the summer she had. "But I am okay not practicing... for a little while." Her hand reach up again to the ring.
He didn't mean to be so persistent, but he needed an excuse to get to the library. He gently tugged her face so she would meet his eyes. "C'mon Odie. Even just read up a bit more. Aren't you wanting to get back to your studies. Surely your break will mean more energy you can try to use." He offered.
The girl looked back over to the fifth year Hufflepuff girls swarming their new Beauxbaton friend, along with the other few girls who got sorted into their room. She watched them eager make their way out of the great hall, caring not for a single glance her way. She shifted her eyes back over to Regulus; his mouth brought up into a half grin on one side- still charming as ever- drawing her in, with his mystifying dark eyes encouraging her to come along with him. Another glance over at the girls exiting the room. Only that Beauxbaton girl looking back, her attention seemingly glued to Regulus and Odessa.
She sighed. Was it really any question? Should she go with her house, her responsibility, or should she follow along with Reggie, breaking more rules. Everything in her kept telling her what she was meant to be doing. How she would just be making things worse by sneaking out. She knew she would berate herself for it later. But something about that boy- something about Regulus Black had a way of pulling people in like a whirlpool.Odessa just had to hope he wouldn't let her drown.

"Re...reducto" The girl managed, collapsing her head onto the desk. She forgot how exhausting this work was. What was going wrong? Why was her mind never clear enough? She reached up to the ring around her neck as she closed her eyes, letting the fatigue take over for a moment. Her eyes fluttered open again as she heard the low chuckle from the boy by her side.
"Sleepy, Odie?" He asked jokingly, laying his own face sideways on the table. He ran his hand over her hair. "I know I told you to work on your studies, but don't overdo it again."
She nodded, suddenly caring not for her lack of energy. Before her, this beautiful boy lay with her in the dim candlelight. The flame bounced the light across his face, glowing his grey eyes in the darkness of night. It reminded her of the delicate soul living within. As long as the light could shine back at her, the boy in front of her was alive.
If it didn't...
