They stared at the list:

"Autumn, why don't you try first?" Mia suggested.

"Sure," Autumn shrugged. "How do I trigger it?"

"You need to intensely focus on an object you want to lift, then use your hand to try and lift it. If done correctly, your palm will glow black," Mia explained. "Lift that cup," she pointed.

Autumn focused and slowly lifted the cup. Her palm glowed black, but just as she had lifted it, the cup fell to the floor and shattered, startling Lila and Ella.

"Don't worry, that's because it's a hard power to control. You need to train intensely to master it," Mia reassured.

Autumn shrugged, and Mia noted down 'confirmed' next to Autumn.

"Carly, why don't you try next?" Mia suggested.

"Okay!" Carly replied enthusiastically.

"You need to concentrate on the illusion you want to create, move your fingers rhythmically. If done correctly, your fingers will glow orangey-pink and play a soft, quiet tune," Mia explained.

Carly began to move her fingers, and it worked! Everyone waited to see what her illusion would be. She decided to create an illusion of Marjorie and Mia hugging. Since this was her first time using the power, it wasn't very convincing, but it was clear what she was trying to do. Mia, annoyed, touched the illusion to make it disappear while Charlotte and Carly chuckled.

"You're going to regret that," Mia warned as she wrote 'confirmed' next to Carly's name.

"Marjorie, you're up next," Mia said.

"Alright," Marjorie replied, looking determined.

"To trigger the protection power, you need to focus intensely on the object or person you want to protect. Close your eyes and concentrate. Once the shield is created, you should feel it. " Mia reminded.

Marjorie concentrated hard, closing her eyes and focusing on a nearby chair. After a moment, her palm began to glow green. When she opened her eyes, a faint shimmering shield surrounded the chair, visibly protecting it.

"Great." Mia mumbled as she scribbled 'confirmed' next to Marjorie's name.

"Reece, your turn," Mia called out.

"Got it," Reece said, stepping forward.

"To activate super strength, you need a clear mind and a strong will. Focus on lifting or moving something heavy, and your palm will glow dark green if you're doing it correctly," Mia explained.

Reece picked up a heavy box from the floor. His palm began to glow dark green as he lifted it with ease. The box felt weightless to him.

"Okay." Mia mumbled, noting 'confirmed' next to Reece's name on the list.

"Winter, you're up next," Mia said.

"Alright," Winter responded.

"To activate ice manipulation, you need to concentrate on where you want the ice to appear. Visualize it clearly in your mind, and your palm will glow white if you're successful," Mia instructed.

Winter focused intently, placing his hand over a spot on the floor. Slowly, ice began to form, spreading out in a thin, frosty layer. His palm glowed white as he manipulated the ice.

"Funny how your name is Winter and you got Ice." Mia said, writing 'confirmed' next to his name.

"Ella, it's your turn," Charlotte said with a smile. "Why don't you try reading my mind? See if you can tell me what I'm thinking."

Ella nodded, focusing her attention on Charlotte. She closed her eyes and concentrated, attempting to connect with Charlotte's thoughts. After a moment, Ella opened her eyes and said, "I can't really tell what you're thinking, but I sense that you're feeling really happy and a bit anxious."

Charlotte looked surprised. "Well, I was actually thinking about how excited I am for today, so you were pretty close with the emotions!"

Mia wrote 'confirmed' next to Ella's name.

"Lila, you're up next," Mia said. "Remember, you need to focus on the object you want to create. If done correctly, your palm should glow orange."

Lila nodded and concentrated, visualizing the object she wanted to create. She held her hand out and focused intensely. As she did, her palm glowed orange, but when the object appeared, it wasn't what she had envisioned. Instead of the intended item, a random object—a small, intricately designed lamp—materialized in front of her.

Everyone looked at the lamp in surprise. Lila blushed, looking a bit embarrassed. "I guess it's not exactly what I wanted."

Mia smiled reassuringly. "Well you do need to train for it to work exactly how you want it to."

She wrote 'confirmed' next to Lila's name, noting that the power worked but needed refinement.

"Jodie, it's your turn," Mia said. She observed Jodie playing with the toy car and running after it as it sped down the corridor. Mia noticed Jodie moving faster than usual, and her eyes widened in realization.

"Jodie, wait!" Mia called out. Jodie stopped abruptly, confused. "Ugh of course she summons her power chasing after a toy car. Jodie you have super speed." Mia says, annoyed.

Jodie looked puzzled but intrigued. "Oh ya! Thats totes cool Mia!"

"Yeah.. so cool." Mia confirmed, slightly annoyed.noting it down.
