Green To Yellow: Beware My Power

Chapter 8

My name is Thaal Sinestro. For the past 2 decades I have served to protect the galaxy from threats from all over. However, I've always felt something was missing from me.. As if I needed more.. After what the guardians did, allowing my friend to be killed by that monsterous red lantern everyone knows as Atrocitus, that feeling engulfed me fully. I was called to by a new force of nature, one wanting to give me the power I have always desired. Needed even. Now, I am no longer Green Lantern of sector 1417. Now, I am Sinestro, leader of the Sinestro Corps! Spreading fear across the milky way.

     "It's been nearly 2 months, there has to be SOMETHING!" Hal exclaimed angrily as John sat beside him on the planet of OA.

      "I know you're angry and you want him to return, you want to know he's ok. Bring him back. But you can't, Hal, not always at least." He expressed as he immediately responded shaking his head.

      "NO! I WILL NOT BELIEVE THAT!" He exclaimed slamming his fists on the alien bar table before standing up and turning towards the nearby window overlooking the planet. "Please.. John help me find him.." He spoke as John sighed lightly.

     "It isn't your fault or responsibility Hal." He reminded as Hal turned to him shaking his head once more.

      "It is though. All of this is on me." He spoke as John thought for a moment before letting out another low sigh.

      "I suppose there is one place I haven't thought of looking into. Let's go." He expressed taking flight as Hal eagerly and quickly followed behind his friend to continue his search for the rouge lantern.

"It appears Hal Jordan is still determined he will find Sinestro and revert him to his Green Lantern ways." One of the guardians spoke as the other ribbed at his head tiredly.

"And now John and he are off to Korugar to discover more of him than anyone knows of." He expressed as the others turned towards him.

"We all knew the truth of Sinestro, that he'd possibly turn rouge one day. We know that in some universes he ends up staying as one of us. But if Hal Jordan discovers the truth of Sinestro, then we all know how he'll react." Another Guardian spoke as one them sighed lightly.

"If we want Sinestro to return to us, we need to prevent it. But preventing it only means giving the Green Lanterns more reasons to fall apart as much as Sinestro did. We must allow it to come out and depend on Mr. Jordan to offer him a second chance rather than the most common option provided in the multiverse." He expressed and hoped turning towards the other members of the group.

"If this goes the way we all fear, Sinestro may never return to our side and become a common enemy to The Green Lanterns." One of them reminded as the previous one nodded softly, expressing how he understood the decision he made for them all.

"Welcome, Hal Jordan, to Korugar. The home planet of Sinestro." John spoke aloud presenting the depressive planet.

"It looks so.. dull. He lived here?" Hal asked curiously as John nodded softly.

      "It wasn't always like this you know? Just as Sinestro became a Green Lantern, an attack was brought here destroying a good proration of the city it's citizens knew and loved.

      "Thaal, are you finished yet?"His coworker asked as he looked up from his journal slowly.

     "About so. I just have to finish adding this one last-" He started until a loud explosion from outside was heard causing the 2 coworkers to rush over to the nearby window, watching creatures from other worldly planets, firing shots at buildings around the city causing them to crumble down creating screams of chaos.
