Green To Yellow: Beware My Power

Chapter 3

     "So, Sinester, what's your story?" Hal questioned as the pink alien began circling the new lantern.

"It's Sinestro for one you.. puny HUMAN. My story begins 8 years ago when my planet, Korugar, was nearly destroyed. While working on one of my studies with a ruin my people had recently discovered, a spaceship crash landed smack in the middle of it. Inside the pod, was a Green Lantern named Prohl Gosgotha. The injured lantern then gave me his ring to fend off the threat incoming to our planet. I of course defeated the threat before the planet could be destroyed. After the battle, however, I went to check on the Green Lantern. When I returned to his ship, he was already gone. Ever since that day, I have used his ring for the power of good, taking on all evil that dares to face the power of the Green Lantern corps." Sinestro explained as Hal shook his head lightly to awake him from a zoned out moment.

"Good for you, you saved the day, Sinester. Now, where are we exactly?" Hal questioned looking around confused as Sinestro sighed lightly, facing the clueless human.

"The ring you bare, belongs to a once good friend of mine. Abin sur. He died and gave you his power of will. I believe he chose wrongly of his successor, but what do you believe?" Sinestro questioned as Hal turned to him, thinking of what to say exactly.

     "Look, man, I don't know what to tell you. I don't know what this ring sees in me entirely I don't even understand the entire concept of.. what's it called again? A Green Lantern?" He asked looking down at the ring. "I don't know what your friend saw giving me his ring. All I know is I'm not sure if I can handle it." He admitted softly as he was then blasted back against the wall with a glowing green bus construct.

     "Not with that attitude you won't." A large, bulky, animal like alien spoke landing in front of Hal.

     "That hurt!" Hal exclaimed as a green construct of a ball smacked Hal in the middle of his face as a tall, muscular, caucasian male with short brown hair and glowing green eyes slowly approached Hal as well.

     "These are some of the Green Lantern Corp's finest. Kilowog, and John Stewart. Alongside me they will be training you. testing your skill, your willpower." Sinestro explained as Hal turned to him with a light chuckle.

     "You're kidding, right? This has to be a joke." Hal spoke lightly as Kilowog placed his large hand over Hal's shoulder.

     "Oh definitely, little man! A big ol' jokey joke!" She chuckled lightly as he then lifted Hal into the air and threw him outside as he screamed in horror. "DON'T FORGET TO FLY! UNLESS YOU WANNA DIE!" Kilowog shouted as both he and John Stewart leapt into the skies, flying after Hal. Hal slowly began understanding his control with harnessing the ring and maintaining the ability to fly in the air.

     "Oh ITS ON!" Hal chuckled lightly as he quickly flew towards the other two lanterns.

      "Know how to create a construct yet?" John questioned as Hal shook his head confused causing John to chuckle lightly. "All you gotta do is think of something in your head and channel all the willpower you hold, then simply just use the ring!" He shouted as a large green whale shot from John's ring, swallowing Hal whole as well as causing him to lose balance in his flight pattern.

     "HEY THATS NOT FAIR!!" Hal exclaimed as he quickly caught himself mid air, blasting high up into the air, charging towards the two.

     "Are you sure about this, Abin?" Sinestro spoke as Sur nodded lightly.

     "I'm sure. I need to do this if i'm going to keep our people safe as well as every sector known to existence." He expressed as Sinestro nodded lightly understanding their situation.
