★CHAPTER FIFTEEN★

ASHLYNS POV:

From what i can remember I used to see my grandma a lot when I was younger, I didn't see her as often anymore but every week my family did this thing where we would all video call her and talk to her so we wouldn't 'grow apart'. But to be honest it was always fun no matter how much i tried to complain that I'd rather just see her in person. I was dancing in my room, it was around 9 pm on a Saturday. Suddenly I heard my mom scream from her room and got startled, tripping and falling. I rushed over to her room and opened the door "Mom! What happened!?"
I turned on the light and all I saw was my mom setting her phone down after she had just hung up a call, tears in her eyes and my dad just as confused and worried as me. "Emma what's going on?" my dad asked, putting his hands on my moms shoulders. "It's my mom.. she's dead" i winced at seeing my mom cry for the first time, hearing her voice like that made me feel weak. It took me a second to process her words because of how panicked i was, but wjen i finally did i felt my eyes tearing up. i stay silent and just stood there, my dad looked panicked as if he didn't know what to do and he gestured for me to go back into my room. I slowly backed up, walking back to my room and shutting the door. Tears fell from my eyes and the first thing i thought of was that i just needed someone here with me-I needed aiden. The first time i probably would ever actually wouldn't care if he saw me like this, i just needed him.

AIDENS POV (TEXTING):

Ashy🙀: Can you come over
or at least text?

Me: yeah i can come over why?
like right now?

Ashy🙀: yeah
I'll just explain when you get here.

i immediately had a gut feeling something horrible had happened, and i couldn't help but be extremely worried. I walked over to her house as fast as i could, and just as i raised my hand to knock on the door ashlyn opened it. Her mascara was smeared and she was crying, her eyes red. I immediately threw my arms around her, pulling her into a tight hug. "Ash, let's go in your room first then you can try your best to tell me what happened, ok?" i said in the softest, calmest voice i could manage despite being extremely worried and panicked. She nodded and we walked up to her room and i sat next to her on the bed, wrapping an arm around her waist. "What happened ash?" "my grandma's dead.." she said, her voice breaking. My heart sunk, i pulled her into a hug and she buried her face into the crook of my neck. It broke my heart to see her like this, I've seen her cry before but never like this.
"Im so sorry ash..do you need me to spend the night?" "yes please.." "Here, let's try to get your mind off it, ok? I'll go make us some food, and you should probably take melatonin, then we can watch something until you fall asleep, ok?" she gently nodded and stood up, clinging to my arm. We walked to the kitchen and i tried to get her to sit down, but she refused, saying she wanted to stay next to me. "What do you wanna eat, ash?" "i dunno" "Mac n cheese?" "no"
"chicken nuggets?"
"no"
"do you want something light on your stomach?"
"i dunno"
"Ash, does anything sound good to you? even if it's something you don't have in your house, I'll get it for you"
"No not really"
i sighed and thought for a moment.
"You sure?"
"well I don't wanan bother you.."
"ash i need to make sure you eat, tell me and I'll go get it, i can just take my parents car"
"you cant drive"
"i know how, i started taking drivers lessons, and plus, if its fast food i can just have it delivered here instead if me driving makes you anxious"
"Can you order me a McChicken? with a small sprite please.."
"of course ash" i said as i grabbed my phone. "Should i get your parents anything?"
"i think they would like that"
she told me what her parents would usually get and i placed the order, and set it for delivery.
"It'll be here in less than an hour. Dont take melatonin yet, i dont want you falling asleep while you try to eat. lets go watch something, ok?"
"mkay"
we went back into her room and i turned her lights off, setting her LED light color to dark blue.
"is there anything specific you like to watch? like a comfort show or anything?" i asked
"you're gonna make fun of me"
"i wont i promise ash"
"...Young Sheldon"
"its on Netflix, right?"
"yeah"
i put on young Sheldon as we waited for the food, and after about 45 minutes it arrived.
"Ash I'll go get it and give it to your parents, stay here ok?"
"mkay"
i got up and grabbed the food, organizing it so me and ash's food were in one bag and her parent's food were in the other.
I brought the food up to their room, gently knocking on the door.
"Mr and Mrs banner? me and ash ordered food and we got you some.."
"Oh aiden? when youre here?" her dad said as he opened the door.
i nodded and handed him the bag along with the drink carrier
"here i can help if you need" i offered
"No it's fine, thank you, I'll pay you back, how much was it?"
"No, no need. It's fine really"
"are you sure?"
"I'm sure, goodnight!"
"goodnight!"
he shut the door and i walked back into the kitchen, grabbing me and ash's food then going back up to her room.
"Hey ash sorry i took so long!"
i set the back down on the bed, handing her the sprite and setting my drink aside on her bedside table.
She took melatonin before she ate, then i made sure she ate all of her food.
"You ready for bed, ash?"
"mhm"
i set out trash aside, the laid down and wrapped my arms around her
"if you wake up in the middle of the night, dont be scared to wake me up too if you cant fall back asleep, k ash?"
"mkay, i love you aiden"
"love you too"

TYLER'S POV: TEXTING

Tay: tyler where are you??
are you at logans?

Me: no im js on a walk why?

Tay: this late??
hurry get home
mom's in your room
she's looking at your journal

Me: what.
is this a joke??
its not funny tay

Tay: im sorry i should've stopped her from going in your room
its not a joke
