And so, as Lucio starts sobbing while tightening the hold of his mom, I froze in silence.
She locked her eyes to mine, almost aggressively, but sympathetically, accusing. "Is everything okay?" She pats her son on the head, embraced him instinctively.
"Kimm", i breathed in return. Her gaze softened a little, "Is everything okay, Jose?"
Hearing her say my name again brought me back to the bus ride we shared in the storm. It definitely was the first time she said my name.
"Lucio, come over here." I regained my senses and realize he's been crying in public for a minute and he's starting to gain attention. "Come here, have some water." All this time I'm holding his small knapsack and bottle. He went obediently.
Kimm was looking in directions, seems lost in thought. "Did you come here with somebody?", I interrupted.
