As the Kim brothers began to gather themselves, "Who are you?" Namjoon asked, his voice filled with suspicion. "And why did you help us?"
"Never taught you to beg," the man murmured his voice was cold, devoid of any emotion, sending a shiver down the brothers spine.
"Excuse me?"
The masked man exchanged a glance with the woman before reaching up to remove his mask. The room fell into a stunned silence as the man’s face was revealed.
"Appa?" Jungkook whispered, his eyes wide with shock.
The woman followed suit, removing her mask.
"Eomma?" Taehyung choked out, disbelief coloring his voice.
Their mother nodded, her expression softening as she looked at each of her sons, lingering on Y/n, who was in the room being checked up by the doctor.
"Yes, it's us," she said, her voice gentle but firm.
"But how did everything turn out like this? Y/n was the spy sent by Lee—" Jimin was abruptly cut off.
"Not now," Joong Ki interrupted, his voice sharp. "This isn’t the time for explanations."
None of them had expected them to show up now, right in the middle of the chaos.
Hye-kyo sighed, stepping forward. "We knew you’d have questions, but for now, all you need to know is that evrything is under control."
Suddenly, the doctor walked out of the room. "Young Miss—"
"What's her condition now? Is she alright?" Jungkook asked, his voice laced with concern.
The doctor sighed, glancing between Jungkook and the others. "She’s stable for now, but her condition is delicate. The injuries were more severe than we initially thought, and the drug was too harsh for her... typically in this condition"
Jungkook’s heart sank. "But she’s going to be okay, right?"
The doctor hesitated for a moment before nodding slowly. "We’ve done everything we can. She needs rest and time to heal. Physically, she’ll recover."
Jimin stepped forward, his eyes filled with concern. "Can we see her?"
The doctor glanced back toward the room before nodding. "One at a time Young master. She needs rest."
Without hesitation, Jungkook moved toward the door, but Namjoon placed a hand on his shoulder, stopping him. "Let me go first."
Jungkook hesitated, but the look in Namjoon’s eyes made him step back.
As Namjoon entered the room, his heart ached at the sight of Y/n lying pale and still on the bed. He quietly pulled up a chair beside her and sat down, watching the steady rise and fall of her chest.
"You didn’t deserve any of this," he whispered, his voice barely audible. "I’m sorry we couldn’t protect you."
Though unconscious, Y/n seemed to stir slightly at his words, her face softening. Namjoon reached out, gently brushing a strand of hair away from her face, feeling the weight of everything pressing down on him. They had to get through this. For her. For all of them.
Namjoon exhaled slowly, his fingers lingering near Y/n’s hand. He wanted to say more, to reassure her even if she couldn't hear him, that they would make things right. But for now, all he could do was sit beside her, offering silent comfort.
The door creaked open behind him. Turning, he saw Joong Ki step inside, his expression unreadable. Namjoon straightened, his gaze hardening. "Are you going to explain now Dad?" he asked, his voice low but firm.
Joong Ki crossed his arms, glancing briefly at Y/n before meeting Namjoon’s eyes. "We never planned for it to get this far," he admitted. "We had people watching, keeping an eye on you all, but we couldn't interfere...not yet."
"Why?" Namjoon demanded. "Why let us believe you were gone for so long? Why let us suffer?"
Joong Ki sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Because if we had come back sooner, you'd all be dead by now."
Namjoon tensed, his mind racing. "What are you talking about?"
"There’s more at play here than you realize, son" Hye-kyo’s voice came from the doorway. She stepped inside, her eyes soft yet firm. "Lee wasn’t acting alone. There’s a much bigger force behind this. And if we had revealed ourselves before the right time, they would’ve wiped out all of you without hesitation."
Namjoon clenched his fists. "Then why now? What changed?"
Joong Ki’s gaze flickered to Y/n before he answered, "Her."
Namjoon’s stomach twisted. "What do you mean?"
"Y/n was never just a spy sent by Lee," Hye-kyo said gently. "She was a piece in a much bigger game. But somewhere along the way, she became more than that. She became one of you. And that changed everything."
Namjoon swallowed hard, looking back at Y/n’s fragile form. He thought about the moments they had spent together, the trust that had grown between them despite the secrets. And now, the truth was unraveling layer by layer.
A soft knock at the door interrupted the tense silence. Jungkook stood there, impatience and worry clear in his eyes. "It’s my turn," he said, his voice tight with barely contained emotion.
Namjoon hesitated, but he knew Jungkook needed this. With one last glance at Y/n, he stood and made his way out, brushing past Joong Ki and Hye-kyo without another word.
Jungkook wasted no time. As soon as he reached Y/n’s side, he took her hand in his, holding it tightly as if afraid she’d slip away. "I'm here," he whispered, his thumb brushing over her knuckles. "And I’m not going anywhere."
His chest ached at the sight of her so vulnerable, so unlike the fierce girl who had fought beside them. "You have to wake up, Y/n," he murmured. "You promised, remember?"
Silence stretched between them, and for a moment, Jungkook feared she wouldn't wake up. But then her fingers twitched ever so slightly against his hand.
His breath caught. "Y/n?"
Her eyelashes fluttered, and a soft sound escaped her lips. Jungkook leaned in closer, hope surging through him.
Then, finally, her eyes slowly opened.
