We continued talking until someone walked toward us. "Holy shit, the Kim brothers are coming towards our table," Dahyun panted, looking terrified.
"Why are they coming here?" Dahyun asked. I just shrugged it off and continued eating the delicious lunch prepared by Jin oppa.
I didn't realize the effect my brothers had on everyone, not only in the mafia and business world but in the school too, and it's scary.
Jungkook, Jimin, and Taehyung oppa kept coming, but I kept my head down, continuing to eat my lunch and refusing to look up.
They stopped at the front of our table. "Well, how's my little sister's first day going?" Jungkook oppa smiled and asked while twirling my hair.
"Um, it's going good. I really like it so far," I answered. "But oppa, what are you doing at our table?"
"Did you forget, princess, that we were supposed to have our lunch together?" Jimin oppa said.
"I'm sorry, but I think I won't be able to have lunch with you," I replied, munching on my cookies.
"Why not?" Taehyung oppa asked as he took some of my cookies, passed them to Jimin and Jungkook oppa, and ate them.
"Because I'm having lunch with my friend," I replied.
I stared into their eyes, embarrassed by the scene they were causing, as everyone in the cafeteria was looking at us. "Oppa, please go back to your table; everyone is staring," I whined.
"I'm hurt, princess," Jimin oppa said, throwing his hands up dramatically.
"Who is your new friend, baby? Won't you introduce her to us?" Jungkook oppa asked, staring at Dahyun, who sat frozen in her seat, not even thinking about speaking up. I tried giving her a reassuring look.
"She is Dahyun"I introduced her, "Oh pretty name for a pretty lady"Jimin oppa commented making her flushed like a red cherry.
"Alright then, enjoy your lunch, princess. And Dahyun, take care of our little sister," Taehyung oppa said before walking away with Jimin and Jungkook oppa to their table.
"Oh my god, what just happened?" Dahyun asked, wide eyed.
"I thought you were joking when you said they were your brothers."
"What? Why would I joke about that?" I asked, looking at her with curiosity.
"Well, most of the girls lie, claiming they’re their girlfriends to gain popularity, but in the end, they just end up embarrassing themselves in front of the whole school," she answered, giggling a bit.
As the bell rang, signaling the end of class, I gathered my things and followed Dahyun out of the classroom. She was still buzzing with excitement, her curiosity seemingly endless.
"So, what’s it like living in that huge mansion? I bet it’s like a dream come true," Dahyun said as we walked down the hallway.
"It’s definitely big, but it feels like home. There’s always something going on, whether it’s one of my brothers teasing me or some big prank being planned," I replied.
Dahyun nodded, her eyes wide. "I can’t even imagine. I mean, everyone at school is terrified of them, but you talk about them like they’re just regular guys."
"To me, they are just my brothers. They’ve always looked out for me," I said, feeling a warm sense of pride.
As we reached our lockers, Dahyun paused, her expression turning serious. "But isn’t it scary, you know, with all the stuff that comes with being part of the Kim family? I’ve heard rumors…"
I hesitated, knowing exactly what she was talking about. The rumors about our family’s involvement in the mafia were no secret, even if most people didn’t dare to speak about it openly. But Dahyun was my friend, and I didn’t want to lie to her.
"There’s a lot people don’t understand about my family," I said carefully. "But my brothers would never let anything happen to me. They’re always there to protect me, no matter what."
Dahyun seemed to absorb my words, her expression softening. "I guess that makes sense. I’m just glad you have them." ______________________________________
