#19 | FAKE RELATIONSHIP..?
You woke up to the familiar, comforting weight of your blankets, the afternoon sun filtering through your curtains in lazy, golden streams. You squinted at the clock on your nightstand—1 PM. Not exactly a surprise, considering it was the weekend, and you rarely had plans before noon. After a moment of groggy contemplation, you rolled out of bed and shuffled to the bathroom, hoping a splash of cold water would kickstart your day.
By the time you made it to the living room, Rin was already up, dressed in a simple Spiderman t-shirt and light jeans, lounging comfortably on the couch with a cup of coffee in hand. She glanced up as you walked in, a grin spreading across her face.
"Good afternoon, Sleeping Beauty," she teased, her voice laced with amusement.
"Yeah, yeah, laugh it up," you mumbled, still half-asleep as you plopped down next to her on the couch. You were wearing a f/c hoodie and dark jeans, the typical weekend attire for someone who had just rolled out of bed.
Rin chuckled, taking a sip of her coffee. "You know, if you didn't stay up until 3 AM watching YouTube, you might actually see what the morning looks like."
You gave her a mock glare. "I'll have you know, those late-night streams are essential for my mental health."
"Uh-huh, sure," Rin said, rolling her eyes playfully. "Anyway, I invited Hinata, Kuroo, and Kenma over today. They should be here any minute."
That woke you up a little. "You invited Kenma?" you asked, trying to keep your voice casual, but there was a hint of nervousness that Rin didn't miss.
"Yep," she replied, a mischievous smile creeping onto her face. "I figured it would be the perfect opportunity for you to ask him about going to your cousin's wedding with you."
You groaned, leaning back into the couch. "You're never going to let this go, are you?"
"Of course not," Rin said, her grin widening. "You've been stressing about this wedding for weeks, and Kenma is the perfect solution. Plus, it'll be fun to see you two play the 'fake couple' act."
You threw a pillow at her, which she dodged easily. "It's not going to be 'fun,' Rin. It's going to be awkward and uncomfortable, and I don't even know if he'll agree."
Rin laughed, not at all fazed by your concern. "Please, Y/n, you're overthinking it. Kenma likes you, and he'd probably do anything to make you happy."
You raised an eyebrow. "Likes me? Where are you getting that from?"
She gave you a knowing look. "Oh, come on. It's obvious. The way he looks at you, the way he acts around you—it's all there."
"Yeah, right," you muttered, crossing your arms. "He's just nice to everyone."
Rin smirked, leaning closer. "Sure, but he's especially nice to you. Remember when he let you crash at his place after that party last month? And how he stayed up to make sure you were okay?"
"That's just Kenma being Kenma," you protested, though you couldn't help but feel a flutter of something at the memory.
"Uh-huh," Rin said, clearly not convinced. "And what about all the times he's gone out of his way to help you with your streams? Or how he always finds a way to spend time with you, even when he's busy?"
You didn't have a good response to that, so you just huffed and reached for your phone, hoping to change the subject. Scrolling through your camera roll, you searched for something, anything, to distract Rin from her teasing. As you swiped through the photos, you suddenly froze.
