#20 | TRIP TIME

As the weekend of your cousin's wedding drew near, you found yourself knee-deep in clothes, packing for the three-day resort extravaganza. The wedding was set to take place at an exclusive beach resort, and the invitation promised luxury, relaxation, and an array of activities. It was the kind of event that would make anyone swoon with excitement, but you were more focused on what to wear than the idea of lounging by the pool or participating in beach activities.

Rin, ever the fashion enthusiast, was sprawled on your bed, enthusiastically helping you sort through your wardrobe. "Okay, how about this dress for the ceremony?" you asked, holding up a long silk navy blue dress with off-shoulder sleeves and a slit that teased mid-thigh. The fabric shimmered in the light, exuding elegance and sophistication.

Rin's eyes lit up as she nodded vigorously. "Y/N, this is the dress. You're going to look absolutely stunning in it!"

You smiled at her approval and set the dress aside, feeling a bit more confident about your choices. But Rin wasn't done yet. She sat up suddenly, her eyes narrowing with suspicion. "Wait a minute. Isn't this a beach resort? Have you packed any bikinis?"

You shrugged nonchalantly, turning back to your suitcase. "Yeah, no, I'm not going swimming."

Rin stared at you in disbelief, her mouth slightly agape. "What? Who goes to a fully-paid, all-inclusive beach resort and doesn't swim? Even if you don't plan on swimming, what about the beach activities? You can't just sit on the sidelines!"

You sighed, knowing she wasn't going to let this go easily. "Yeah, I probably wouldn't do them anyway. Kenma wouldn't want to do them, would he?"

Rin scoffed, shaking her head in exasperation. "Girl, Kenma cares about you. He'd do it in a heartbeat if you were involved. Did you not see how quickly he agreed to go with you? He's practically in love with you."

Your cheeks flushed slightly at her words, and you quickly averted your gaze. "Okay, you know what, fine. I'll just get these two," you muttered, grabbing two random bikinis from your closet and chucking them into your suitcase without a second thought.

Rin grinned triumphantly, clearly pleased with herself. "That's my girl! Trust me, you won't regret it. This trip is going to be amazing."

You nodded, though a part of you still felt uncertain. The idea of spending three days at a romantic beach resort with Kenma, pretending to be a couple, was enough to make your heart race with a mixture of excitement and anxiety. But you knew there was no turning back now.

The evening before your departure, you found yourself sitting on your couch, double-checking your packing list and trying to calm the butterflies in your stomach. Rin had already went to sleep, leaving you alone with your thoughts. The reality of the situation was starting to sink in—three days, one room, and Kenma.

Your phone buzzed, snapping you out of your reverie. It was a message from Kenma.

kenny boy

everything ready for tomorrow?

You quickly typed back a response.

Y/N

yeah, all packed.

you?

kenny boy

same

just making sure we're on the same page for this. It's just pretending, right?

You paused, rereading his message. There was something about the way he phrased it that made you feel a little uneasy. But you brushed it off, reminding yourself that this was just a favor between friends.
