◎ Is he really so worthless? ◎
Lu Yao pretended to be weak, casting furtive glances his way. Unfortunately, He Chengjun had no time to pay her any attention at the moment.
He stepped forward and grabbed Dong Jiaojiao's arm, trying to take her home. "Dong Jiaojiao, come back with me. Let's talk this through."
He Chengjun still wanted to make things work with Dong Jiaojiao, and his current approach wasn't necessarily wrong.
The problem was, Dong Jiaojiao didn't want to!
So, she struggled fiercely and shouted loudly, "He Chengjun, you bastard! Get your filthy hands off me. You make me sick. Let go of me now!"
He Chengjun's muscles tensed all over, but despite Dong Jiaojiao's punching and kicking, he refused to release his grip.
When one hand couldn't hold her steady, he used both, tightly locking Dong Jiaojiao in his arms.
Seeing this, Lu Jinzhu quickly stepped forward, yanked He Chengjun away, and pulled Dong Jiaojiao behind him for protection.
"Comrade He Chengjun, I told you yesterday that the army does not allow domestic violence. You need to watch your behavior!"
He Chengjun was stunned. He had seen Lu Jinzhu there, so he had been holding back his temper and not roughing up Dong Jiaojiao.
Moreover, Dong Jiaojiao was the one hitting him. He hadn't even fought back!
Hiding behind Lu Jinzhu, Dong Jiaojiao took the opportunity to shout, "He Chengjun, you bastard! I'm going to report you right now!"
The two sides argued back and forth for a few more rounds, and finally, at Lu Jinzhu's suggestion, they all went to the home of Zhao Shichang, the political commissar of the army.
Zhao Shichang looked at Lu Jinzhu, full of confusion. What was Lu Jinzhu doing here? Since when did he get involved in such matters?
Then, looking at Lu Yao, who seemed on the verge of tears as if she had been greatly wronged, Zhao Shichang suddenly understood. He was here to back up his niece.
"Speak up, what's going on?" Zhao Shichang glanced at Dong Jiaojiao, who was fuming with anger.
"I want to report He Chengjun and Lu Yao for having an improper relationship, and for He Chengjun's long-term failure to fulfill his responsibilities as a husband, which has caused me great mental and physical harm. I demand a divorce!"
As soon as Dong Jiaojiao finished speaking, He Chengjun yelled, "Dong Jiaojiao, have you lost your mind? Didn't you agree yesterday not to bring up divorce? There's a limit to this nonsense!"
He Chengjun was so angry that he didn't notice the strange look Zhao Shichang gave him.
It seemed that He Chengjun's problem was quite serious; the couple had already discussed divorce in private.
Moreover, from the way He Chengjun spoke, it seemed like he had agreed to some condition yesterday that made Dong Jiaojiao temporarily compromise.
Who would have thought that today, she would catch He Chengjun and Lu Yao together again, leading to this outburst?
Standing from Dong Jiaojiao's perspective, Zhao Shichang thought that her desire for a divorce was reasonable.
If a man couldn't do his job and was fooling around outside, who wouldn't feel hurt?
Zhao Shichang had personally seen Lu Yao bringing meals to He Chengjun. He had called him to his office just yesterday to reprimand him, but apparently, he hadn't taken it to heart.
