◎Even if you turn to ashes, I would still recognize you at a glance!◎
Transcribing the divorce application wasn't urgent at the moment. Dong Jiaojiao sincerely invited Lu Jinzhou:
"Director Lu, you came so early. You haven't had breakfast yet, have you? If you don't mind, why don't you join us?"
Lu Jinzhou hadn't had breakfast yet. He had a bit of insomnia last night and wasn't very hungry this morning. However, seeing how much Dong Jiaojiao and the children were enjoying their meal made him a bit hungry.
"Thank you then."
"Not a trouble at all, just adding another pair of chopsticks."
Dong Jiaojiao efficiently served Lu Jinzhou a bowl of century egg and lean meat porridge and, using the cupboard for cover, retrieved a few more meat pies from the space she had stored them in.
With the space function, Dong Jiaojiao sometimes cooked extra and saved it in the space for later. Now was the perfect time to serve it to a guest.
"Director Lu, this was just made this morning and is still warm. Please eat more."
"Thank you, Auntie. You eat too," Big Hair and Second Hair, like little hosts, actively served Lu Jinzhou.
"Yes, it's delicious. Please eat," Second Hair quickly joined in to help.
Lu Jinzhou, obviously unaccustomed to dealing with children, smiled awkwardly.
Dong Jiaojiao found it amusing to see Lu Jinzhou, who was previously so decisive and unyielding, now become so uncomfortable.
"Director Lu, don't mind them. Please eat."
Big Hair and Second Hair, obeying Dong Jiaojiao, focused on their food and didn't talk much.
Seeing the delicious food in front of him, Lu Jinzhou's stomach growled. As long as he was with Dong Jiaojiao, he had no feeling of disgust.
A bite of the crispy, savory meat pie and the smooth, tender meat in the porridge made his taste buds sing!
With warm food in his stomach, Lu Jinzhou felt revitalized. The four of them—two adults and two children—enjoyed their meal with satisfaction.
When Wang Cuihua came over, she was surprised to see them together like a loving family. Especially her two children, who usually ate messily at home, were now eating carefully, not wanting to waste a bit of food.
Wang Cuihua was so surprised that she almost questioned if she had entered the wrong house.
Seeing her children behaving so well and eating so carefully, Wang Cuihua thought she might have underestimated the situation. If she had known, she would have come earlier.
"Mom, why are you standing at the door?" Big Hair noticed her.
Wang Cuihua, feeling embarrassed, said, "Little Dong, is there a guest here? I'll come back later to pick up the kids."
"No need to pick them up. Big Hair and Second Hair will come back themselves later. It's just two steps away," Big Hair said nonchalantly.
Wang Cuihua was worried they might stay to eat more of Dong Jiaojiao's food, which was why she came so early.
Noticing that Dong Jiaojiao had already started eating, she didn't push the issue. Besides, there was a strange man in the house who looked a bit familiar.
