"Good morning Ro!" Karina said with a smile as she reached the bottom of the steps. Royalty was on the couch watching The Polar Express with hot chocolate.
"Good morning Mama Karina." She said with a smile.
"You want to help me make breakfast?" Royalty nodded her head and paused her movie. She followed Karina into the kitchen and washed her hands so she could help her.
"Can I put on Christmas music?" Royalty asked while typing on the IPad connected to the kitchen speaker.
"Of course." Karina was grabbing ingredients out the refrigerator and the pantry. Royalty put on The Jackson 5's I Saw Mama Kissing Santa Clause and they started making breakfast. This was the first Christmas at Karina and Chris's new home and they had all the kids with them. Karina was so excited to have all the kids together for Christmas and was so grateful for the ladies being okay with it.
Royalty did cinnamon rolls while Karina did pancakes, eggs, and bacon with a variety of fruits. As the two sang and cooked, the sound of Zaire's cries could be heard from the baby monitor.
"Uh oh." Karina said as she chuckled softly. Zaire rarely cried so when he cried, she knew he was angry about something.
"I'll get him." Before Karina could respond, Royalty ran off and went upstairs to get him. She flipped pancakes and sung along to Let It Snow by Boyz II Men before Royalty and Zaire joined her in the kitchen. Zaire was still crying but when Karina kissed his cheek he calmed down a little.
"Awww munchkin just wanted some love, ain't that right?" Zaire babbled back and Royalty smiled. "Let me change him, can you watch the pancakes please?" Royalty nodded and grabbed Zaire so that she could change his diaper and clothes. After changing his diaper and putting on a onesie that said 'This Is My First Christmas' she brought him back downstairs to see Chris and Royalty in the kitchen dancing to music. "Not y'all partying without the life of the party."
"Who? Zaire?" Chris asked. Royalty laughed but covered her mouth to stop herself.
"You trynna be funny and I don't appreciate it." Karina pointed her finger at him and Chris tried to bite it but she moved her hand quickly while laughing.
"Give me my son." Chris reaches for Zaire and Karina tries to move but he took him anyways. She rolled her eyes and went to Royalty.
"What a wild animal." Karina whispered to Royalty and she laughed. Chris thumped the back of Karina's neck and she quickly grabbed the area he thumped. "You're a bully...I want you to know that."
"You'll be ight." He kissed her cheek and walked away.
"Get the rest of the kids, breakfast almost done." Chris nodded his head and went to get the rest of the kids. Karina played the food nicely and put it at the center of the dining table.
