I watched from the rooftop as the bounty hunters below discussed their plans. The pug-faced mayor, also known as Mr. 8, seemed to be the leader of this group. However, it was clear to me that they were all just a part of a much bigger organisation. One that I had dealings with in the past.

Mr. 8 was giving the others orders, "For now, confiscate everything of value from their ship."

The muscular woman, Miss Monday, questioned him, "So what do we do with them?"

"Kill them?" Mr. 9 suggested in an overly enthusiastic voice. A flash of rage made me grit my teeth and sit upright.

Mr. 8 spoke down on the weasely man, "If they die, the bounty drops thirty percent. The Government prefers to hold public executions," The others fell silent as he glared down at them, "Now, go! I want them alive!"

"Alright, I've heard enough. Time to handle these losers," I drew Wado and held it up as I spoke clearly to catch their attention, "Hey... Sorry to interrupt," The four of them, along with the crowd of other minor hunters all turned to me with varying levels of surprise or anger. I felt my lip curl into a vicious sneer, "Do you mind lettin' my friends sleep? They've had a long day, and the journey was exhausting, so I've been told."

I heard a door open and a man's voice shout out in distress, "Hey, Mr. 8, Miss Monday! One of them escaped from the room when we weren't looking!"

Miss Wednesday huffed in annoyance at the man as she narrowed her eyes at me, "He's right over there."

"Sneaky wretch!" Mr. 8 snarled as he pointed up at me, "You should have stayed asleep with your friends!"

My smirk only grew at his frustration, "A good swordsman never makes the mistake of letting his guard down. Plus, I took a nap earlier," I taunted him as I stood and looked across the crowd, "Judging by the scowls and cheap disguises, I'm guessing you're all bounty hunters. Your speciality is robbing drunk pirates who fall for your hospitality. It's original, I'll give you that at least," I shrugged as I looked back at Mr. 8, "I count a hundred of you scumbags, give or take," I narrowed my eyes and tightened my grip on the hilt of my sword, "And I'll fight all of you, you hear me, Baroque Works?!"

The angered expressions all turned into shock and fear. Mr. 8 shrieked, "Ah! How do you know our name?!"

"I was in a similar line of work once upon a time..." I answered him as I grasped the hilt of Yubashiri, "Your company tried to entice me with a job offer. Naturally, I said no," I cocked my head to the side as I continued, "Do the same rules still apply? Employee identities kept secret, cheesy code names, the boss's identity and whereabouts also a mystery?" I scoffed, "Baroque Works: The criminal group that faithfully carries out their orders like herded sheep. Hmph!" I chuckled, "That's some secret."

Mr. 8 gritted his teeth before forcing a smile, "This is a surprise... If you know all of our secrets, then we are left with no other choice but to kill you," My smirk turned into an unimpressed frown as he raised his eyes to lock with mine, "And another gravestone shall be added to the cactus rocks tonight."

I watched as he raised his arm to point at me and acted quickly. I rolled backwards and ducked my head down to get out of sight. As I slinked across the rooftop to the ladder on the side of the building, I could hear them all shouting and gasping.

I slid down the ladder, dropping to the ground and dashing up to the edge of the building near the plaza, careful to stay hidden. Glancing out, I saw them all frantically looking around. I smirked as a devious idea popped into my head, "Let's have some fun with this. I haven't been able to play with a group this size in quite some time."
