Chapter 4

Isamu summoned the five of us to the dining hall. When we arrived, we found a long table set for eleven; five on each side and one at the head of the table.

Isamu was already seated at the chair at the end. He rose when we came in. A grin burst onto his face, "Welcome, Strawhats! Please, take any seat on this side of the table," He gestured to his left.

Sanji took the first seat at the end. Nami sat next to him and Usopp next to her. Luffy smiled and took the seat next to Isamu, "Alright! I can't wait! What's for dinner, old man?"

I took the last seat between Luffy and Usopp as Isamu sighed at the 'old man' comment, but quickly got over it and smiled, "Everything, my boy! But first," Isamu paused to ring a bell next to his plate, "Allow me to introduce the five Chiefs of Staff."

Answering the bell chime, the door opened again and five women walked in single file around to the right side of the table. Each of them wore a black dress with silver trim, but there were different symbols on their sleeves, like the symbols on the doors to the separate wings of the palace.

The first girl stopped at the first seat across from Sanji. She had short, light brown hair and a kind face. Her eyes were bright green and her smile brighter still. On her sleeve was a red cross insignia, the only symbol that was not silver. She bowed low to each of us, "Hi! I'm Anna. I'm the Chief of the Nurses Branch," She sat down across from the Ero-cook, who was drooling at the sight of the women.

The second girl had long, wavy, black hair and dark, brown eyes to match. The symbol on her sleeve was the feather duster. She also smiled and bowed, "I'm Haruna, the Chief of the Maids Branch. It is wonderful to meet you," She took the seat across from Nami, smiling gently.

The third girl had straight, blond hair and sea-blue eyes. A silver serving dish adorned her arm. Like the two girls before her, she smiled and bowed, "My name is Jenni. I am the Chief of the Waitresses and Chefs Branch. You are about to see firsthand what my girls can do," She smirked as she stiffly sat down across from a very tense Usopp.

The fourth girl had shorter, dark red hair and hazel eyes. Her sleeve displayed the image of a steaming circle. She seemed bored, almost annoyed, but she mimicked the other three with a polite bow, "Mai, Chief of the Spa Attendants Branch," She gracefully sat down into the chair across from me with a bored sigh.

Finally, the last girl walked up. I tensed when I recognized the snow-white hair from earlier. She still had her eyes closed and no smile graced her lips. For the first time, I noticed the bell symbol on her arm and the blood-red sash around her waist. Her hand slowly waved through the air until it bumped into the chair across from Luffy. She did not bow like the others but sat down immediately. Without turning to any of us, she spoke quietly and dryly, "I am Kaori, the Head of Security here at Isamu's palace. It is a pleasure to see you all again."

Nami was the first to speak, "Um, Kaori, was it? I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean by that. We've never met you before."

Kaori turned her head toward Nami's voice, "You don't remember me from town? I usually leave quite an impression on people, like that pirate captain. What was his name, Dai or something? Surely you remember that fight in the town square earlier today," She smirked darkly.

I was shocked, "She is the Head of Security?! She is the person I saw fighting the Grizzly Pirate's captain?! She is wearing the same sash, and I suppose she is about the same height... That explains a little bit, anyway."

Isamu laughed when he saw the look on our faces, "Surprised? I told you, this kid is incredible!"

"W-w-wait a second. You don't mean to tell me that you were that person dressed in black from town earlier?!" Usopp gasped in shock.
