Y/N: "Where do I even begin? How long has it been...? So many years ago, we were just children—innocent, untouched by the cruelty of time. Oh, my love, the sweetest joy I've ever known. Two hundred years ago, I held you in my arms, your warmth a promise I clung to. Now... look at us."

He chuckles softly, voice trembling with unspoken pain. He steps closer to her, his eyes reflecting a mixture of joy and sorrow.

Y/N: "I used to say I'd make the storm clouds cry for you. I'd capture the wind and sky if you asked. And I did. Held you in my arms, willing to die for you if it came to that. Gods... How time has flown."

Charlie watches, frozen in place. Her gaze flickers between Y/N and the woman before him—Sophia. Y/N's face, usually shadowed with the weight of the world, now bears a smile she's never seen before. A genuine, radiant happiness that cracks something inside her. A tear slips down her cheek as the ache gnaws at her heart. Why couldn't he look at her like that? Why couldn't she be the one to bring him this joy?

Y/N takes Sophia's hands, holding them with a tenderness that nearly breaks him. His grip tightens, as if he's terrified she'll vanish if he lets go. His smile falters only for a moment.

Y/N: "It's me... I know I don't look the same. I know this face is different, scarred by the years and the battles I've fought... but it's still me. I'm still me... the one you loved. Please, don't pull away."

Sophia hesitates, her eyes wide with uncertainty. She takes a step back, and Y/N's heart lurches.

Y/N: "No... don't be afraid."

He reaches for her again, desperation creeping into his voice.

Y/N: "I swear to you—I haven't changed where it matters. I'm still me. I'm still the one who searched for you through lifetimes. Where are you going? I'm still me!"

Sophia stares at him, her silence an abyss that swallows his words.

Y/N's voice cracks, and for the first time, the weight of centuries begins to crush him. He lets out a bitter laugh, shaking his head as he steps back, letting his hands drop to his sides.

Y/N: "Through it all... I searched for you. Through pain, time, and madness. Gods, how much I've endured—how much I've lost—but I thought it would be worth it... if I could just hold you again."

He looks at his hands—scarred, trembling—and then back at her, his voice softening into something fragile.

Y/N: "All I found was more pain... and more madness. Centuries of it."

His chest rises and falls with the weight of unshed tears.

Y/N: "I must ask you, Sophia, to forgive this... this tattered husk before you. I'm afraid all these years of searching... they've really taken their toll on me."

Charlie's heart twists as she watches him. She wishes, desperately, that she could ease his pain. That she could be the one to pull him from the darkness. But she knows... she knows she's just a shadow in this moment, a distant star in the sky of his past. And she can only stand there, tears brimming, as she watches him fall apart.

Sophia's fingers glide gently over Y/N's cheek, her touch a cruel mix of softness and distance. She messes up his hair like she used to, her lips curling into that smile that had once been his salvation. For a brief second, his heart soars. He smiles back, not yet realizing the storm about to hit.

Sophia: "Pat, pat."

Her voice carries a teasing edge, eyes glimmering with nostalgia.

Sophia: "It really has been a long time, hasn't it?"
