Becky's PoV

The letter had come just this morning, but it felt like I had been waiting for it my whole life. My hands trembled as I opened it, heart pounding in my chest. The words on the page blurred slightly as my eyes filled with tears, but I didn't need to read them to know what they said—I had been praying for this, working day and night for this. I had finally earned the scholarship to the university where Freen was studying.

For a moment, I just stood there in stunned silence, the realization slowly sinking in. I was going to see Freen again. After three long, agonizing years, we were finally going to be together. The thought made my heart swell with so much joy that it felt like it might burst. I couldn't contain it—I had to share this moment with someone.

Without thinking, I ran to Yuki, who was sitting on the couch with her headphones on. She looked up, startled, as I grabbed her by the hands and pulled her to her feet. "I did it, Yuki! I got the scholarship!" I practically screamed, lifting her up and spinning her around in a whirlwind of excitement.

Yuki laughed, her joy mixing with mine. "Oh my god, Becky, that's amazing! I'm so happy for you!"

I couldn't stop smiling, couldn't stop spinning her. The world around us blurred, but all I could think about was Freen—how surprised she would be, how we would finally be together again. The thought of seeing her face, of holding her close after all this time, made my head spin with happiness. I was on top of the world, and nothing could bring me down.

But as I glanced around, my eyes fell on Heng, who was standing in the doorway, watching us. His expression was bittersweet, a mix of pride and sadness that tugged at my heart. The smile slowly faded from my lips as I set Yuki down and walked over to him.

"Heng," I whispered, taking his hand in mine. I could see the pain in his eyes, the way he tried to hide it but couldn't quite manage. My own eyes filled with tears as I realized how hard this was for him. He had always been there for me, supporting me, caring for me, even when I couldn't return his feelings. And now, I was leaving him behind.

"Heng, you'll find someone who will love you more than anyone in this world," I said, my voice trembling with emotion. "I know it's hard right now, but just wait, okay? And no matter what, I will always be your best friend."

He looked at me, his eyes shining with unshed tears, and pulled me into a hug. I hugged him back, feeling his shoulders shake slightly as he sobbed into my hair. "I'll miss you, Becky," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion.

"I'll miss you too," I replied, my own voice breaking as I held him tighter. It hurt to say goodbye, to leave behind someone who had been such a big part of my life. But I knew I had to go. I had to follow my heart, and my heart was with Freen.

When I finally pulled away, I gave Heng one last smile, hoping it would bring him some comfort. Then, with a heavy heart, I turned and walked back to my room to pack. As I folded my clothes and placed them into my suitcase, the reality of what was happening began to set in. I was leaving behind everything I knew, everything that was familiar, for a new life in a new place. It was exciting, but also terrifying.

I started to feel a nervous flutter in my stomach, a mix of anticipation and fear. What if things had changed? What if Freen had moved on? What if she didn't feel the same way about me anymore? The questions swirled in my mind, each one more frightening than the last. I tried to push them away, to focus on the positive, but they kept coming back, nagging at the edges of my thoughts.

As I zipped up my suitcase and sat down on the edge of my bed, I took a deep breath, trying to calm the storm of emotions inside me. I was scared—there was no denying that. Scared of what I might find when I got there, scared of the changes that might have taken place in the years we'd been apart. But underneath all that fear was a deep, unwavering trust. I trusted Freen, and I trusted our love. I knew in my heart that she would wait for me, just as I had waited for her.

With that thought in mind, I stood up, grabbed my suitcase, and headed out the door. The journey ahead was daunting, but it was also full of promise. I was about to embark on a new chapter in my life, one that would bring me closer to Freen, to the future we had always dreamed of.

The airport was a whirlwind of activity, and as I boarded the plane, I felt a rush of nerves. This was my first time flying, and the reality of it all was starting to hit me. I was leaving everything behind—my home, my friends, my life as I knew it. But I was also heading towards something beautiful, something that made all the sacrifices worth it.

As the plane took off, I looked out the window, watching the ground fall away beneath me. My thoughts drifted to Freen—what would she think when she saw me? Would she be surprised? Would she be happy? Would she still feel the same way about me after all this time? The doubts crept back in, but I pushed them aside, focusing on the excitement of seeing her again.

This was a new journey, a new beginning. And no matter what awaited me on the other side, I was ready for it. I was ready to face whatever challenges came our way, because I knew that as long as Freen and I were together, we could overcome anything.

As the plane soared through the clouds, I closed my eyes and whispered a silent promise to myself: I would make this work. I would fight for our love, no matter what it took. And when I finally saw Freen again, I would remind her of all the reasons why we had waited so long for this moment.
