Becky’s PoV

The drive back home was quiet, yet peaceful. Freen dropped us off and gave me a warm smile before heading back to her place in her vehicle. I watched her leave, a sense of calm washing over me. Freen had become such an important part of my life. But tonight was for Mom. I had promised her that I would spend the night beside her, fulfilling her long-held wish.

As we walked inside, I glanced around, noticing Rose’s absence. She was probably still out, maybe with Jiso. A smirk tugged at my lips as I thought about what could be happening between them right now. After all, I’d seen the way Rose had been acting around Jiso earlier. The teasing practically wrote itself. Oh, karma is going to hit hard, sis. Payback’s coming for all the times you’ve teased me!

My smile widened as I thought about it, lost in my mischievous plans, when Mom suddenly spoke, pulling me out of my thoughts.

“What are you thinking about, Becky?” Mom asked with a playful tone. “I bet it’s something a little naughty, isn’t it?” she teased, her eyes sparkling with humor.

I couldn’t help but laugh along with her. “Well… I was just thinking about Rose and her little crush on Jiso. She’s probably out with her now, and knowing my sister, she’ll be flustered as hell when she comes home. Oh, I’m going to tease her so bad for all the times she’s teased me. Karma is real, Mom.”

Mom laughed heartily at my words, shaking her head with amusement. “Oh, Becky, you’re terrible,” she said, but I could see the twinkle in her eyes. “But you know, your sister might surprise you. Who knows, maybe she’ll bring Jiso home soon, and then you’ll be the one getting teased.”

I groaned dramatically at the thought, covering my face with a pillow. “Nooo, don’t even say that! I need my revenge first.”

Mom chuckled and patted the spot beside her on the bed. “Come on, let’s get some sleep. It’s been a long day.”

I climbed into bed with her, and as soon as I did, she wrapped her arms around me, pulling me close. Her embrace was warm and comforting, like being wrapped in a blanket of love. It had been so long since we’d shared a moment like this. The last time we were this close, I was still a child, clinging to her for protection and safety. Now, lying here in her arms again, it felt like all the years we’d lost melted away.

I sighed softly, feeling a sense of peace I hadn’t felt in a long time. “I missed this,” I whispered, my voice barely audible in the quiet room.

“I missed you too, my darling,” Mom replied, her voice gentle and full of emotion. “I’m so sorry for all the time we lost, Becky. But I’m here now, and I’ll never let you go again.”

I felt my eyes sting with unshed tears, but I didn’t want to cry. Instead, I snuggled deeper into her embrace, letting the warmth of her love soothe me. “I love you, Mom,” I whispered, my voice thick with emotion.

“I love you too, sweetheart,” she murmured, pressing a soft kiss to my forehead. “Now sleep, my child. I’ll be right here when you wake up.”

I closed my eyes, feeling completely safe and loved in her arms. The world outside could wait. For now, all that mattered was this moment, being here with Mom. The weight of the past few days began to lift, and soon, I found myself drifting off into a peaceful sleep, her soft breathing lulling me into dreams.
