Kim Dan's morning was supposed to be like normal.

Wake up, eat, shower, get ready, and head to his and Heesung's office. With the first four checked off, he headed down to the underground garage and into his white Audi R8 when he received a vague text from Heesung followed by an address.

"Mr. Joo Jaekyung wants to see you. Head to his company."

With lingering uncertainty, Dan had left it at that and found himself heading southbound towards Joo Enterprises.

"...Wow..." Dan whispered under his breath, now standing inside the lobby of Jaekyung's company.

The 20-floor building stood massively adding to the illustrious Busan skyline. Its interior was nothing to scorn at, with neutral tones and shades that gave it an extremely modernized feeling.

Portraits of Jaekyung and his staff hung off some of the walls, while the others held minimalistic images of line work art or lesser detailed landscaping.

Striding over to the receptionist's desk, he didn't even have to utter the first syllable when a man appeared from one of the four elevators on the left-hand side, dressed down in black and sunglasses perched in his auburn hair. His golden-plated name tag reading "G. Seonho".

"Kim Dan, correct?" Seonho raised his brows, watching Dan nod in the affirmative, "Perfect, right on time. The boss is expecting you."

Guiding Dan into the elevator, Dan observed as he pressed the touchscreen number pad to go to the sixth floor. Standing less than an inch apart and letting silence sink in.

Or at least, that's what Dan was trying to do.

"Is this your first time meeting the boss before?" Seonho politely inquired, looking towards Dan who shook his head.

"I spoke to him yesterday in person along with who I assumed to be his top personnel." Dan answered, recalling yesterday's tense meeting, "This, however, is my first time meeting him alone and here."

"Shipping work."

He then let out a playful 'hmph' honestly wondering why he was the only one that was being summoned to Jaekyung's company.

"Well, I'm sure the boss is eager to find a replacement," Seonho pointed out, "Too many people who pledge loyalty, and never stick to it. It's the one thing he hates most."

The sound of the elevator dinging echoed as Dan and Seonho stepped out, with Seonho continuing to lead the way to what looked to be a conference room.

2-B.

"Yes, well," Dan started, giving a silent 'thank you' to Seonho who pulled out one of the black swivel chairs for him to sit, "I'm not necessarily one who abstains from adapting when life becomes difficult."

"It's just a part of life, and I ironically find that what doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger."

"If not dead, or stronger, it could also leave you at rock bottom." Seonho interjected, giving Dan a knowing look.

"That too. But I've hit that point before in my life and I'm not here to hit it again," Dan softly hummed, a weak smile cracking onto his face, "I'm here to create prosperity between my own and Mr. Joo's company."

"Then in that case we shouldn't waste another second." A deep masculine voice sounded from the doorway, causing Dan and Seonho's heads to snap towards it.
