Tristan felt down, his body system was down. The only thing working was his hands on the wheel and the eyes locking on the road. His mind might be a part of the only thing working too, but most of his mind was somewhere else. he was seriously feeling like shit.

He hadn't meant to make Renee upset, Fuck no that wasn't what he wanted. When Nicole had called, he was happy to hear to her voice again. She had wanted to come to his house and see him to patch things up and move on in their relationship. He was sad all the while he was telling her he was not going to be home, and she asked where he was going to.

That was when she told him she wanted to tag along. He didn't think it was a bad idea, it seem good to him. He wanted to spend some time with her so doing it with his family sounded great. Even if he had thought it was a bad idea, Nicole being Nicole would have made it hard for him to say no. He wouldn't be able to say no. He didn't know it would be such a big deal for Renee. He knew the brunette, he was not good with people. He was always irritated with almost everything, Renee didn't exactly have a thing with Nicole to call a relationship, like they never exchanged more than formal words to eachother. More like Renee never made the effort to actually try to bond, he only talked to Nicole if it was necessary, maybe a normal greeting like hi. Nothing more nothing less. Tristan understood him, he didn't like interactions and that worried Nicole to the point where she thought Renee hated her. Tristan had told her that wasn't the case and that was how Renee had always been.

So here they were, in his car driving to his parents place with cool music playing in the background and his girlfriend all smiley and giddy with happiness, their hands intertwined.

He should be happy, he shouldn't be bothered by the overreacting behavior his overly short tempered stepbrother displayed. He shouldn't be bothered he decided not to ride with them, he should just enjoy the company of his girlfriend but he couldn't help it.

He felt bad, his stomach were doing flips and not in a good way. He was terribly disturbed. He was tempted to call Renee's phone again as if the man would answer him if he did.

"Hey Trist, you good? You've not been talking since you started driving." She removed her hand from his and placed it on his shoulder. He glanced at her before sighing.

"Nothing." He flashed a fake smile, and touched her hand that was on his shoulder.

"Is it about Renee? Did you guys fight over the phone? 'cause I saw your facial expression you seemed stressed. Is that why he wasn't going to ride with us anymore because of me?" Nicole was known for observing people, she was good at that. Her being a psychologist is a plus.

"It's nothing really, yeah we fought over something but it has nothing to do with you coming with us, I told you he doesn't hate you if you're still thinking like that, he doesn't want to come with us because he's angry at me." He said to her softly, he hated lying to her but he had no choice.

She smiled warmly at him, "okay whatever that is, you have to talk to him hmm? You guys are brothers , you will forgive each other eventually. Now please stop overthinking you might get us in an accident, we just got back together we have a lot to catch up on, dying is not on the list." She joked a bit.
