Mars blinked a few times, her vision was dark and blurry and her whole body numb. She was sprawled out across the ground and just regaining consciousness...

Mars could vaguely make out the shape of a person leaning over her and as her vision started to clear she could make out some features of the person.

They were smiling and had messy dark brown hair with subtle orange highlights as well as deep bags under their bright amber eyes.

As Mars's vision fully cleared she could tell who was standing over her...

It was her.

Aside from the subtle orange in their hair and eyes the person standing above her was undoubtedly Mars but that couldn't be right...

"Oh good! you're awake!" The person above her said in her voice, but something was off. It had more of a flair to it, a flair that was annoyingly recognizable...

"What-" Mars said rubbing her eyes with her hand, still not fully conscious but the sight of her own hand was enough to wake her up fully.

Her hand was partly see-through and a warm glowy orange color.

She screamed and franticly looked around, panicked, afraid, and confused. Mars was horrified and didn't know what to do.

The person gently chucked and said "Their first reactions are always so fun to watch..." the person said these words with that same flair, confirming Mars's suspicions

"Ajax?" Mars said with anger in her voice and eyes.

"Yes Mars?" they said smiling, something that was odd for Mars to see herself do.

Mars balled up her fists, ran up to them, and punched them right in the face, but instead of hitting them, her fist went right through and so did Mars as she stumbled forward through her own body.

"Holy shit..." Mars muttered standing behind the person, hunched over griping at her semi-transparent orange hoodie still reeling from everything that had just happened

"Did you just steal my fucking body?" Mars said glaring at the person who wasn't looking at them but instead checking their nails "Indeed," The person, Ajax said. They looked around for a few seconds before saying

"Has anyone ever told you how short you are? It's quite tragic really..."

"SERIOUSLY?! WHAT THE FUCK MAN!?" Mars said angrily flailing her arms around.

"Why are you angry? You're the one who agreed to this in the first place" they said in a condescending tone

"THE ONLY REASON I SAID YES WAS BECAUSE OF HOW VAGUE YOUR DUMB DEAL WAS, NOW GIVE ME BACK MY BODY ASSHOLE!" Mars said storming up to Ajax.

"I'm afraid there's nothing I can do for you now Mars, you were the one who made the deal, and now you need to live with your mistake"

The grin that was plastered on Mars's body by Ajax was genuinely unsettling, this entire situation was really. Mars still hadn't fully accepted what had happened in its entirety.

Mars took a step back looking down with a panicked look on her face "Am I seriously stuck like this?! Wait- am I dead?"

Ajax spoke up saying "To the first question, yes, and for the second, sort of. Your consciousness is no longer in your body so in that sense you are dead but your body is still alive, thanks to me, so in a way you are alive as well!"

"Wait so am I like a ghost or something?" Mars said looking at Ajax

"Eh, I suppose you could say that" Ajax responded as they put their hands in the pockets of Mars's oversized hoodie.

Mars pauses for a moment before saying "Okay... a few things, number one, get your hands out of my fucking pockets, number two I hate you and will never ever ever trust you again, and number three!- oh shit- what time is it?" It's at this moment that Mars realizes that her mom might have already gotten home since it was already pretty dark out and she had no clue how long she had been asleep.

Ajax takes their hands out of their pockets and says "How would I know? you don't wear a watch nor do you carry your phone with you when you go out to go take a deal from a sketchy man. Wasn't the smartest move, by the way, it was actually quite stupid of you-"

Mars was already sprinting back to her house and Ajax followed struggling to keep up.

"Good heavens mars, why are you so weak and bad at running?!" Ajax says almost out of breath "Seriously though you really should- " "CAN YOU SHUT UP?" Mars yells cutting them off.

Ajax sighs begrudgingly "Fine, fine... point taken I suppose..."

As the two are running Mars says "It's crazy that I'm not out of breath yet..."

"Well that's probably because you don't really have to breathe, I mean you don't actually have lungs" Ajax remarks

Once Mars hears this she stops dead in her tracks and realizes that she hasn't taken a breath in over a minute "Huh." she says before realizing that Ajax hadn't stopped running and was out of sight, most likely already at her house "Shit." she muttered before continuing to run.

Once she reached her house she was able to see Ajax closing the door behind themself and entering into her house

Mars rushed up to the door and reached for the handle but when she grabbed it her hand phased right through it.

"Damnit," Mars muttered to herself thinking about what to do before an obvious solution popped into her head,

Mars placed her hand on the door and it went right through, she pulled her hand back, took a useless deep breath, and walked through the door.
