"Mars!?" Luna says happily as she sees Mars's eyes begin to open
"Hey Luna," Mars says weakly, just beginning to wake up.
"Mars!" Luna says hugging her tightly and not letting go
Mars smiles and hugs Luna, the two of them sharing a warm embrace.
"I thought you died!" Luna said, tears of happiness running down her face as she held Mars tighter
"Yeah... I kinda thought that too..." Mars says into Luna's sweater
"It's great to see you, like actually see you ya know?" Luna says to Mars
"It's great to be able to hug you," Mars says
Luna lets out a nervous chuckle and breaks away from Mars wiping her eyes with her sleeve "Yeah..." Luna says looking into Mars's eyes
Mars looks around the room, "wait, where's Ajax?" Mars asks
"I don't know..." Luna replies
"Oh... so... what now?" mars asks.
"I don't know... I guess we just... go back to normal?" Luna replies
"Yeah..."
"I guess so..."

5 days later.

"Ugh why is math so hard" Mars groaned as she flopped backwards onto Lunas floor
Mars had gone over to Luna's house so that the two of them could study for their upcoming math test but Mars hadn't gotten much studying done, she mostly just complained about how hard it was and kept dozing off.
Luna frowned as she put down the whiteboard that had a math equation on it "ya know mars, it's easier to do it if you listen to the person explaining it"
"yeah yeah, I know..." Mars muttered as she sat up from the floor rubbing her eyes
Luna thought for a moment before saying "You know what? Why don't we go for a walk? It'll clear up your head!"
"That actually sounds great," Mars says looking up at Luna.
"Then it's settled! we'll go on a walk to clear your head and maybe try this tomorrow!" Luna says, getting up and putting on a green and black striped hoodie over the white shirt she was wearing.
Mars smiles at Luna before grabbing her backpack and heading out with her to the front door.
"Me and Mars are going on a walk okay mom!?" Luna shouts into the kitchen
"Okay Lulu, have fun!" Luna's mom says waving from the kitchen
"Kay, bye!" She says as the two of them walk out Lunas front door
The two of them start down the sidewalk, with Mars on the outside closest to the road, and Luna on the inside.
The two of them are both a little bit tense as they walk down the road in silence, that tension is broken however when Mars feels Lunas hand in hers, their fingers interlocking.
Mars smiles and blushes with butterflies in her stomach, looking down at the floor and away from Luna.
"How ya doing mars?" Luna says softly, breaking the ice
"A- g-great! I'm- uh- I'm d-doing great" Mars says nervously her face turning red.
Luna smiles and giggles a bit as she looks down at Mars "You're so cute when your nervous," She says sweetly.
Mars's eyes widen when she says this "I- I am?" She says glancing up at Luna
"mhm!" Luna says as the two of them cross the street and make it to the overlook
Luna lets go of Mars's hand and jogs up to the ledge hoping on it and sitting down, waving Mars over to her.
Mars quickly looks around before plopping her bag down next to the ledge and sitting down next to Luna.
The pair sit in silence, both of them not looking at the abyss below, but up at the gorgeous sunset above.
Mars relaxes, putting her head on Luna's shoulder.
She's happy.
"I love you," Mars says without even thinking.
"I love you too," Luna replies gently stroking Mars's hair.
The two sit there for a long time in silence, just enjoying each other's presence when all of a sudden Mars's phone buzzes.
"Oh shit, I- 'm so sorry, I've got to get home," Mars says looking at her phone screen.
"Oh okay," Luna says as the two of them hop off the ledge and start walking back towards the sidewalk.
"Hey, mars!" Luna says to Mars who is halfway across the street
"yeah?" Mars replies, turning around to look at Luna
Luna looks at Mars for a moment before quickly walking up to her and kissing her on the cheek "Okay, there, now you can go home!" she says
Mars just stands there in stunned silence, her heart fluttering.
Luna giggles a bit before walking away "Bye mars~! I'll see you soon~!" She says cheerily
"Y-Yeah see you soon to Luna-" Mars says smiling and waving, standing still.
"See you soon Luna...!" Mars says softly as she stares out at the sunset.
"See you soon..."
