Bayley felt like her father didn't care or want her around. Bayley wondered why her mom didn't fight hard enough to keep her. "Bayley your father loves you and only did what was best for you." Marcus said knowing he had said the wrong thing to Bayley. "Thank you but we should get back to the house. I don't want aunt Summer to worry." Bayley said. "Did you find the book you were looking for? Do you need help finding it?" Marcus asked. "I think I found the book I was looking for. Thank you for offering the help." Bayley said.
Marcus watched Bayley look over the room again. Bayley made sure everything was back the way she found it. "Are you sure you have everything you want to take with you?" Marcus asked. "Ya, I do and is there a time frame when I need to have the books back?" Bayley asked. "No there is no time frame at all. These books belong to the family and you are the dragon princess. You can have all the book brought to the house if you wanted. This is a place to keep them safe from anyone getting to them." Marcus said. "I agree the books need to stay here. I just need a few of them. But it's good to know I can take them if I need them." Bayley said moving to the entrance of the cave.
Marcus wanted to insure Bayley that her father loves her. But wasn't sure what was the best way to do that so he will talk to Summer about it. Marcus made sure the the cave was sealed before heading home. Marcus knew they couldn't use their speed to make it home sooner. "You know we need to wait for the sun to go down to use are speed." Marcus said. "If you think that waiting is the best." Bayley said. Marcus watched Bayley start to walk ahead of him. Marcus needed to know what was going on with her. He knew Summer was better at getting Bayley to open up.
Bayley was aware that her uncle was behind her but knew he was no threat to her. Bayley mind kept going back to the dream she had. Her mom was like her, she didn't want to be a companion to the Queen. Bayley knew it would be bad for her in the end. Bayley didn't realize she picked up her pace. "Bayley, you need to slow down." Marcus said. Bayley stopped and looked at her uncle, "I'm sorry, I didn't realize I had speed up." Bayley said.
"It's ok, we need to be careful so no one see us. I know it's hard not to pickup the pace. We have about an hour before the sun goes down." Marcus said. Bayley didn't know what to say and allowed her uncle to walk in front of her. Bayley wiped away a tear from her face. She knew her relationship with her family will now be different. Marcus knew Bayley didn't mean to pickup the pace and he didn't want to seem harsh about it. He knew their relationship needed to be fixed to insure Bayley was safe.
"Mom, when will dad be back with Bayley?" Shouldn't they be back by now?" Becky asked. "They couldn't use their gift to get back here sooner. Your father said they would have to wait until the sun went down. There still an hour before they can use it. Becky has Bayley said anything to you about what is bothering her?" Summer asked. Becky tried to think if Bayley has said anything. "Bayley hasn't said anything to me. She went right to her room after the party. I know she was upset about her dress being ruined." Becky said.
"Where is Bayley dress at? I can try to get it cleaned. Can you go get Bayley dress so I can see how bad it is." Summer asked Becky. Becky did what her mom asked and entered Bayley room to get the dress. Becky noticed Bayley threw the dress in a corner. Becky couldn't believe that Bayley would have done that. Becky pickup the dress and walked back to her mother.
"Mom, I found her dress was thrown in a corner. Bayley loves this dress, why would she do that for? I blame the princess for how they treated Bayley at the party." Becky said. Summer let Becky vent while she cleaned the dress. Cleaning the dress helped past the time. "Mom, I'm worried about Bayley. This isn't like her to take off on her own." Becky stated. Summer knew Becky was right about Bayley. Summer wondered how to get Bayley to open up to her. Summer could tell Bayley feeling were hurt when Marcus introduced her to the royal family.
"Becky can you hang the dress in Bayley room for me? Hang it by the window to dry please." Summer asked Becky. Summer watch Becky walk down the hallway. Summer remember seeing the princess following Bayley around and wondering if Bayley imprinted on the princess. Princess couldn't keep her eyes off Bayley the whole night. A realization hit Summer that Bayley had run into the princess a few days before the party. Bayley was withdrawn than and kept to herself.
Before Summer could go ask Becky about that training day Bayley and Marcus came through the front door. "Oh thank god you two made it back. Did anyone see you guys running at a high speed?" Summer asked hugging Bayley. "No, we stayed on the edge of the forest. Bayley go ahead to bed and we will talk about all this tomorrow." Marcus said. Summer let Bayley go and watched Bayley head to her room. "Marcus, did she say anything to you?" Summer asked.
"No, all she told me was that she needed a book. The only place she knew to find the book was the dragon library. She was planning to be back once she found the book." Marcus said sitting down to eat something. "You seem more stressed than you usually are?" Summer said. "Summer whatever bothering her, she not telling anyone. I have a feeling it has to do with princess Sasha. I'm not sure we will be able to keep them apart." Marcus said.
"We won't be able to protect Bayley if she has to go to the castle. Marcus, how are we going to protect her? Don't give me some bullshit answer. I love Bayley like she is my own and at the party we acted like she was someone we picked off the streets. I don't want Bayley to get stuck working for any of the royals." Summer said. Marcus knew Summer was right and wasn't sure how to fix this mess.
"Can we talk about this tomorrow? I'm tired and I'm sure I need to meet with the King." Marcus said heading to their room. Summer decided to sleep in Bayley room. She hoped Bayley would open up to her but wasn't sure she would. Summer was about to knock when Bayley opened the door. "Hello Bayley, I wanted to know if it was ok if I sleep in here with you?" Summer asked. "Ya that's fine, thank you for fixing my dress. I can't believe you got it cleaned." Bayley said hugging her aunt.
"Bayley, you are welcome and I know how much the dress means to you. Can I ask why you left on your own?" Summer asked. Bayley wasn't sure what to say to her aunt. "I just wanted answers on how I'm feeling. Then my necklace started to glow and I knew it was tied to the dragon cave. I would find what I'm looking for in the cave. So, I didn't want to bother anyone and I figured I would be back sooner. Thing was I got sleepy and fell asleep." Bayley said.
"Bayley, I owe you an apology for what was said last night. I consider you as my daughter not my niece. Your uncle should have introduced you as are daughter. It would have save you from the harassment from the princess. I'm very thankful that you were left with us. If there anything you want to talk about, I'm always here for you." Summary said. "Thank you, it does mean a lot. I just don't know where I belong at the moment. I feel like I'm getting pulled in a different direction. I haven't been able to put it all together." Bayley said. Summer knew Bayley was was having a hard time. "I understand you are trying to figure out your feelings. When you are ready to talk I'm here for you, just know that." Summer said hugging Bayley.
