Chapter 26: Fascination

AIAH'S POV

I need to buy stuff that we’ll need for the coming intramurals pero hindi ko maabala ang ibang council dahil ako lang ang in-assign ni Dean, who happens to be my father’s brother and my uncle.

I don’t get it.

Our punishment is already done since it was only for one month, which means hindi lang kaming apat ang in charge sa council works, but he doesn’t want the others involved in this intramurals work.

Sa’kin lang lahat pinagawa, kahit sila Stacey hindi n’ya pinapatulong sa’kin.

He’s punishing me because of the black stray cat that I found na hinihingi n’ya sa’kin pero hindi ko binigay.

I already finished all the papers needed last week, thanks to Gelo.

The sports organizers are already in charge of the rest, but my uncle instructed me to buy materials that we’ll need.

From the trophies, medals, and other supplies, to the equipment for each sport, I have a long list of things to pick up.

I’ve already been running around town to different stores, checking items off the list, and trying to stay on top of everything.

It’s a lot to manage on my own, but I have to get it done.

"Guys, please! kailangan ko talaga ng kasama! sobrang daming kailangan bilhin."  pangungulit ko kala Maloi.

We’re in our office, and it feels like forever dahil kanina pa ako nangungulit sa kanila, pero pareho lang ang sagot nila—ayaw nila.

"Sorry Ate Aiah, marami rin kaming gagawin, and besides, ayaw namin madagdagan ang workloads namin. If we ever help you, malakas ang topak ni Uncle—." Maloi didn’t even finish her words when Stacey covered her mouth.

"Huh?! narinig ko ‘yon! what do you mean by that?" I asked her curiously.

Stacey rolled her eyes at Maloi before answering me.

"Sorry Ate Aiah, blinackmail kami ni Dean. Pag tinulungan ka namin, tatambakan din n’ya kami ng workloads."

"Ang daldal mo talaga, Ate Maloi!" sabi ni Sheena.

"Bakit ako? nadulas lang eh!" sabat ni Maloi kay Sheena, before looking at me apologetically but quickly rolled her eyes.

"Ibigay mo na kasi kay Uncle ‘yung pusa para hindi ka na namomroblema diyan!"

"No way! Sa’kin lang si Lingling!" sagot ko.

The three of them just rolled their eyes at me.

"Bahalakajan, si Gelo na lang hilahin mo." Sheena suggested.

"Ayaw ko, he helped me na nga sa papers, pati ba naman dito." I complained, exaggeratedly slumping into my chair.

"Ano naman? patay na patay naman sa'yo 'yong tao eh, and besides, he's your suitor kaya okay lang 'yan, Ate." Sheena retorted with a smirk.

I just rolled my eyes at her.

Ayaw ko naman samantalahin yong feelings ng tao lalo na wala pa akong balak sagutin siya.

And the fact that Mikha's been occupying my mind lately to the point na I almost forgot that Gelo's courting me makes it even more complicated.

May narinig kaming kumatok, kaya we all looked at the doorway and saw Colet, Jhoanna, and Gwen peeking in.
