Inara stood in front of the mirror, trying to decide between two outfits, both equally chic but sending different messages. She could feel Ava's eyes on her from the bed. "What do you think?" she asked, holding up a sleek black dress in one hand and a floral, flowy number in the other.
Ava, lounging comfortably with her legs crossed, tilted her head thoughtfully. "Depends. Are we going for 'mysterious power couple' or 'adorably in love' tonight?" she teased, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
Inara laughed, shaking her head. "Well, it's a triple date. I don't want to steal the show from Scarlett and Sophia."
Ava rolled her eyes playfully. "Oh please, you could show up in pajamas, and you'd still make an impression." She got up from the bed and wrapped her arms around Inara's waist, resting her chin on Inara's shoulder as they both looked at the mirror. "But if it were up to me, I'd say go with the black. We'll match."
